    Hi,

I drive an 01 Seat Cordoba and I've it 3 years, and it used to get me back problems. I then gave it to my wife to drive and I got a Laguna. But now the wife has taken the laguna and i'm stuck back driving the Cordoba.

The seat isn't very comfortable and my back is at me again..

rather than buy a new car, and get nothing for mine! i want to get the seats replaced..

my question is... are seats compatible in all cars.. can i get seats fitted that are from say an 04 Golf? (or BMW!! ha!)

    cheers..

In a word, no. The seats from another VAG car might fit, though. Does the car have side airbags?

no car seat has no airbags.. they are useless...

i have to get more comfortable seats.. i was thinking a scrap yard would have loads of good seats with no home!

Best thing is to google a couple of SEAT enthusiasts websites - i'm sure it's been done before, with a bit of luck you'll be able to find a walkthrough of what seats fit/how to do the swap. Just be careful not to get seats from a crashed car.

Been there. I've had an 03 Audi Allroad from new. For the first 3 years, the seats were fine, then they started giving me serious back problems. I had the seat dismantled by a specialist to check the frame and also had the cushion replaced. Made no difference.

I was seriously thinking about changing the car. However, I eventually replaced the drivers seat with a second hand orthopedic Recaro purchased from Germany on eBay. It's electric with heating and ventilation and is very comfortable. Downside is that it cost €1k, but what price for comfort? The Recaros are around €2k new.

Recaro do subframes to fit most cars so you need to purchase this along with the seat if you go that route.

Im 6ft 6 and do about 50.000 Km a year, I know the back pain! I get it from all car seats (except Merc AMG seats!) So I use either a cushion or more recently a little back support bean bag which I got in Tesco's for less than 10 Euro! problem solved!
