Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So, whilst I cling desperately to my Gamestop gift card, how did Wolvie turn out? No demo available so that's out of the question, any thoughts or opinions from boardsies?

There's a demo on the US marketplace if you have an account. There's also a review of the game on eurogamer. They gave it a 5/10.

    its brilliant

    absolutely brilliant

but riddled with bugs that some wont be able to see past

rent it before you buy it in case youre one of those, which to be fair therell be a few coz the issues are horrendous

the game itself tho is amazing fun

I see 7.8 outta 10 on IGN, repetitive gameplay being the biggest issue so far. I'll try get my hands on a copy to try tomorrow then!

ive had it for a month and im still playing it

considering i give few games more than 10 hours, thats a bloody good accomplishment

Really good game, been playing it a fair bit. The moves are class and the levelling system is well worked out. Haven't come across any bugs so far. I'd say it's a 8 or 8.5 myself. Eurogamer can feck off with their 5 out of 10 score! knob ends....

not so much bugs as rubbish game design

crappy frame rate, complete slowdown when theres smoke effects, invisible walls etc

It's a fun hack and slash game. Not exactly deep. Can't say I've seen many bugs. It's repetitive, but in a fun way. :)

Yeah the game is repetitive, but its great fun.

This is a strange one the graphics in parts are poor but in other parts really good the part on top onf the tower in the jungle area looks amazing. The gameplay is repetitive + its a bit of a button basher.

Everything says i should hate it but i really really like it.

The PS3 version is riddled with frame rate issues i hear. It runs a lot better on the 360.

There's a play through video of some of the first level here by Giantbomb if you're interested.

I completed it on PC with an XB360 USB controller. Ran perfect frame rate wise, even in triple screen mode:

I think all 3 platforms have a blurry texture problem which is engine related. At any given moment, something onscreen seems to have the distant low res texture applied even when standing beside it. Quite annoying.

Finally got around to playing this...bought Left4Dead instead (which is the worst pre-exams decision I will ever make!).

Just thought Wolverine gre way too old way too quickly. Never used any other move than Lunge and every other move was just a God Of War rip off anyways...

    Ah well...

Am i the only person who thought the movie wasn't awful? I had a few cocktails before seeing it and thought it was the ultimate lads movie.

dunno if youve finished this yet, but rolling and lunging did it for me

be VERY careful when you jump or lunge tho, coz if he shoots you with his lazer eye jobbies he'll knock you off

When this game came out, I decided to pass. It looked ok, and it didnt look to worth my €50.

But for €15, i think its great :) Fair enough its not the best game ever made, some of the cut scenes look as if they were not compressed properly or something, its repetitive. But despite all this, its a pretty fun game to pass the time, anybody else pick this up on the cheap?

It's worth a play, especially now that you can get it for €15-€20.

Was a rental for me when it came out, but was fun indeed one of the better games of a movie i have played.

yea a few glitches alright, and the pacing is terrible. I think if they had another couple of months to work on this, it could have been much better

Yea its quite glitchy alright.. I was one of the the poor feckers that when I finished the game and went back over to play to get all the collectables it would crash when you got over 90% and had to change to a different level.
so ya could never get all the collectable unless you get them as you go

And you hate mass effect 2?

I played the wolverine demo on PS3. It was fun, for about 5 minutes. It's a very basic game, some nice little ideas but all borrowed from better games. The combat and combo system are certainly not on a par with ninja gaiden or bayonetta, the bad guys are all your usual cookie cutter video game types, in fact if you removed wolverine from the game it could be used for any number of movie-game tie-ins.

For me, it had "rental" stamped all over it, I can't imagine why anyone would want to buy it.

EDIT: The movie was awful. Any chance to shove as many x-men characters into a movie as you can, just because...well, I still don't know why. Did Gambit need to be used? No, and he was underused, badly portrayed by a young model/actor (or is that actor/model?) and simply thrown into the story so they could show him in the trailer to make comic book geeks weak the the knees.
