Very misinformed opinion. A huge portion of the 'creative and openminded' characters of Galway City you will find are in fact from Tuam originally. Tuam has produced an astonishing amount of successful artists on the Arts scene over the years. I heard the last day that for the size of the town, the amount of bands/artists who have charted in the Irish Top 40 in the last 50 years is amazing, and incomparable to bands/artists who have stemmed from other small county towns.
