Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nut needed

M7 metric nut needed - (11mm spanner size)

While removing the manifold from my car I dropped a nut down behind the alternator somewhere and can't find it. I've taken off the covers underneath the engine etc. but there's no sign of it.

If someone would have such a thing I'd be most grateful as there's not a hope of buying one this weekend. (I tried Halfords but all they have are M6 & M8's)

I can collect anywhere in Dublin.

    Thanks in advance.

Is there anything else non-critical on the car that you could take a nut off just to get you over the weekend?

Had a good look but no joy, it would be the odd sized nut that I lose.

Are you certain it's a 7mm nut you're looking for?
That's a somewhat bizarre size that I've certainly not come across before.

Might it be 1/4" by any chance?
That'd be close in size to 6mm (which wouldn't thread on without butchery) and would take a 7/16" spanner, which is as near as dammit to 11mm.

    What make is the car/engine?

A hunt around a breaker's yard would probably be fruitful, but they won't be open 'til Tuesday I suppose. :(

Is it one of the 12 bolts that hold the manifold on? If so you'll need a M6x42mm bolt (part#5)

The flange nut is M7 (part#14)

After getting 2 11mm manifold nuts, 2 different threads.

I'll be back up in Dublin Citywest after 6 this evening if you still

    want them. Muckie.
