Thanks for the help. It was a bit messy but I managed to get that thing out with a flathead screwdriver and some blood, sweat and tears. It was so worth it though, the new stick is amazing. I was playing on the madcatz one the whole time and it really doesn't compare.

Also to anyone removing small screws, using a screwdriver the correct size from the beginning will save you a whole load of grief.

Tournament Edition MadCatz Fightstick reduced to £77.77 on Amazon.co.uk, that's €86.88, which is a fair bit cheaper than what I got mine for.

That is a quality deal imo.

edit: Oh, that's the PS3 one though. Yeah I think it's gonna get cheaper.

I'm finding the down direction on my seimitsu stick in an SE doesn't hit as cleanly as I like - two in one hadoukens / akuma dive kicks and so on don't come out 100% of the time - is it just the positioning of the stick being slightly biased so down doesn't get as much travel? Or is it too much plastic in the front mount of the stick restricting its movement?

    Any ls-32-01 folks any thoughts?

Was talking to dreddy about this and he reckoned it's just the not-quite-right shape of the semitsu.

Jlf for the se so? Any fit issues there? Or will I just get a file through the hole for the stick?

The fit's not perfect. My old SE, while fine, is held in by 2 screws instead of 4.

Dreddy's TE seemed spongy on the down directions (although it worked fine). it was just you could push it a little too far down.

I got next to no stick skillz though so I am the wrong un to ask :)

Madcatz SE (and TE) stick will fit all current Japanese sticks:

    Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT with flat plate
    Seimitsu LS-32-01 with S-plate
    LS-40-01 with S-plate - must order additionally
    LS-55-01 with flat plate
LS-56-01 with flat plate MS -- must order additionally

LS-32-01 being held in with only 2 screws is fine, it doesn't wobble.

If you want to try a new stick, I suggest LS-55/56 with octagonal guide + bat top for some old-school feel.

    Eh... noooooooo.

Trust me I know the sticks joc there used to use and semitsu square gate with a ball top is as close as he's going to get in a good stick. Perhaps with an extra spring.

EDIT: Even though I used to use the same, I am not going back from Sanwa. just better.

I might have a look at a few and see which I can consistently pull things off with more next time I'm at a casual or tourney.

I'll bring my LS-56 stick next time, though it's balltop/square.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭Dreddybajs

LS-56 is horrible for street fighter, everyone should just use a sanwa JLF

Either or for me, tbh. The heavier stick reminds me of lighter times :)

Yeah, i would love to have framed images of Alan Shearer and Bobby Robson too. How amazing would that be.

Oh man what I would do to own a radiator like that!

How much would that set someone back? Or is it the rarity that's more problematic?
