GPS uses data to download the maps, so if you have a data plan, and you are running in Ireland there is no extra cost. If you are running the Boston Marathon get ready for billshock!

You can install a program called xGPS which allows you to download maps to your phone for offline use so that you don't get charged. Beware thought that the map downloads are huge in size.
