Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Right guys, I'm planning on heading up the North tomorrow and on the shopping list is a good starter camera for myself. I'm looking to spend around €300 not sure whether to be going for a DSLR or a Bridge camera any advice ? Also had a look around on the internet myself and found the Olympus e 420 and the Panasonic DMC FZ28 what are you thoughts on these ? Thanks :D

Have the FZ 28 myself .. and just have to say WOW :)

    VERY happy with it

A few snaps I've taken with it
    (warning may contain cat)

Not saying they are great shots but you can see the level of quality the camera can take

Personally I'm over the moon with it
(bought mine on ebay from one of the sellers recommended here)

Edit: If I had to say something bad about it ... it might be its performance in poor lightening but then I expect the same could be said about a lot of cameras in poor light

e-420 is much better than any bridge camera, plus after using the kit lens(es) you may find that you want something different and all you need to do then is buy a new lens and attach it to the camera :)

Which if you're on a limited budget is why I love the fz28 :) also not having to cart around spare lenses and all that stuff. It has an 18x optical zoom.
