Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Any advice appreciated!

Is there a way to connect my 360 to the TV using the HDMI cable, and to my 5.1 audio receiver with an optical out? As far as I can see the only option for audio optical connection is the component cable, meaning I cant use the HDMI.

Is there a composite HDMI & Optical connection? I did a quick google but cant seem to find one.

you can crack open the component/optical casing to fit both the hdmi & component/opti connection in. ie. take off the big casing around the metal component connection and you can fit both that and the hdmi into the back of the 360.

it's not pretty but it works.

iirc I saw a youtube link on how to do it on boards here before.

I just went at mine with a screwdriver and pulled the casing off :)

I almost did the same as the guys said, but then I look around and I found a optical output in my TV. So I have my HDMI cable from xbox to TV and digital sound from tv to Home 5.1 or my Astros :)

There is an optical output connected to the component cable, you can use that if don't mind using the component cable.

Dont think the telly gives a proper digital 5.1 out though does it?

    Thought it was only analogue?

Yes it does, I mean if your telli has a digital output works as " digital HUB " will only send the signal out just for this cases when you have a HDMI imput From xbox or something else to send to other apliance like home 5.1 or wherever you like I, I use my one for my sony 5.1 or my astro but any time that I want to use one or another I have to go in the back of the telli and and change :(
