Personally I think there would be enough interest before the season starts to run at least 2 leagues - I feel that 16 is a bit too many for a single league. 12 is a perfect number but 16 is alright it shows who can pick players from the leftovers and who cant. Sometimes makes it more interesting. I was in an 18 man one in the states last year. All the injuries made it a fun league to be in.

Thats 19 now. We could go to 20 and then split it up 2 ways. Or try for 24 and split it up two ways.

What we could do is do a 1st division and a 2nd division with promotion and relegation. Put all the posters who have been on here longest in the top division and the rest in div 2. Then relegate and promote next season. A good way to make competition.

Sounds great, suggested that idea just after we finished the last one but didn't want to mention it because some lads might have felt like I was trying to get in the back door way:)

How'd that work in terms of drafting by the way, would the one player only be available to both divisions or a team in each division could pick him? Would we move to ppr to increase scoring and make the draft a bit harder in terms of selection?

I think CBS allows it that you can choose to hold on to your best player and a rookie of your choice for the next season if your into building teams etc.

Best way to be fair to everyone is this:

- 2 seperate leagues run (24 teams trying to draft quality is mad)

- Name 2 leagues Premier and Div 1

- To decide who goes into what League
- Winner of last years
- And then do it by length of time of Boards and in AF Forum. By join date.

- Then you have 2 seperate leagues

- Every year the two teams in the Championship game get promoted from D1 and the 2 with the worst records go down. We could also do 3 up 3 down. By 3rd best finisher and 3rd last.

Tis an idea and could be a fun yearly thing.

I was just thinking to myself that a bigger league makes it all the more exciting just like the game itself. It would be fun I think. I mean you lose your main guy and you have to bring in somebody who might be a major failure or could turn out alright just like in reality.

Two sides to every argument I know but I'll leave it up to the rest to decide.

I agree but you would need everyone to turn up for live draft for it to be affective or those who dont turn up will make it an extremely long draft and the CPU will just pick the next best ranked player on the list. I was in an 18 man league 2 years ago and dude the draft took forever and there were some total wipeouts in it

I have one set up on the NFL site but it looks like they want money. When do the NFL start the free leagues? Or should we go to another site, whats the best one to do it on?

CBS and NFL use same engine and the free version will pop up in july usually.

Ok so here how the 2 divisions would break down. I have done it by Years on here and by amount of posts to be fair to the regular posters.

As long as everyone participates in the draft and changing line-ups weekly etc. the league should be good regardless of size. Each league needs a moderator on the actual CBSportsline site to actually set it up. I say we just do regular scoring leagues, or else just hold a vote between each of the leagues to see what type of system etc.?

The bit in bold will be the problem with the Draft though. If you go with a full 20+ League you wont get all 20 online for the draft. And this problem will ruin the league keeping smaller numbers to a league will help keep somewhat fair. Got stuck in a league last year where the guy with the 8th pick was on auto and drafted a decent team. He logged in the odd time and got beaten in the Final.

Same, i was in a league where some lad didnt log in at all after brady went down and just left his starting line-up, including brady, all the way through!, wasnt even in my division either so didnt get the two handy W's!!:mad:

Sounds good. Can we not make a mandatory draft and have whoever the commish is ban you from playing your first pick for the first 2 or 3 weeks if you don't participate in the draft. Would stop people pissing about then. Set the draft for a midweek night late in the evening and you be able to get most on board.

Dont think the commish can do that in any of the leagues. And you will never get a full room in the draft thats why its best to go with a league of 12 or so. So if a couple of folk dont turn up there is still plenty of good picks to go around.

Just to be clear, what's the story with the draft? Does everybody have to be in the same room and work off one computer or can everyone make their own picks from home?

Is there any room left for a newbie??? Love the game and I've been trying to get involved with an Irish fantasy set up for the past couple of years. Played the free games on Yahoo, ESPN and NFL.COM, but sometimes not everyone manages their teams or does a proper draft and the whole thing gets very messy. If theres a spot left in this league, I'd love to play.

No its from your own computer everyone is just logged onto a common server (i.e the draftroom). you should check out fantasyfootballcalculator.com to see how it works

Yup bottom 2 get relegated and the two who meet in final of Div1 get promoted. We can run two seperate league so both leagues have full option of all players. but we keep updating here so when next year comes around we have this forum as reference of who signs up into which division.

Dont forget with the Free Leagues if you setup a league you must play in that league so I would suggest someone in Div 1 set it up and post on here.

In fairness I had my list spot on and got a lot of players I wanted (Rivers and Forte being the main ones).

Set the draft for this year so it isn't at 4am my time and then there'll be no cause for complaint!

I know defo ah sure I missed two when I was in the US last year. Good thing was they were 2 leagues full of guys who didnt know what they were doing easy money.

When I set it up the very last date was Wednesday 12th but I will move it again by 2 weeks when the options become availbale. Most likely go Wednesday Aug 19th. I find weekends nobody is ever around so middle of the week after 10pm might be the best.

Open to suggestion though. The more we get on draft tday the better. obviously right now no one can say where they will be in 3 months time but always good to discuss.
