Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was down at the passport office in Cork today.
I''d been waiting at least 14 hours for my number to be called and
I was aimlessly starting out the window.
Suddenly I noticed a small boy, he was about 3 or 4 years old.
He was crying and then to my horror he started attempting to cross
    the road.
If you're not familiar with South Mall in Cork, it's not a good road for anyone to be crossing at busy times, not to mind a small child.

I ran outside to him and brought him onto the footpath.
He said he's lost his brother so I phoned the Gardaí.
I'd been waiting at the side of the road with him for about 10 minutes when his 10/11 year old brother sauntered past without a care in the world.

I started telling him off for leaving the poor child abandoned beside a busy road but he just smiled
and headed into the passport office with the small fella.

Turns out that their mother had been sitting inside in the passport office the whole time and was completely oblivious.
She'd been sitting inside, with a clear view out the window to where her toddler was crying and abandoned.
She not only didn't notice her child almost getting knocked down.
She also didn't notice her child sitting outside with a complete stranger for over 10 minutes.
The article in Heat magazine that she was reading must have been realy good,
although she was probably just looking at the pictures.

I was going to give her a piece of my mind but sure what's the point?
There's no talking to people like that.

Appalling is the only word I could use to describe this woman.
It's a pity that the Gardaí didn't arrive before the brother showed up.
It might have been no harm if she had to explain her negligence to them.

Cork - what do you expect?

Were you really waiting 14 hours?

Amm, that may have been a slight exaggeration on my part.
It was at least 2 hours though.:)

Who would want a Cork child?

She was probably getting the passport so she could sell him to Madonna.

It's an office that processes passport applications.

Let me get this straight, you think that you can get a passport by bringing a form to your local Garda Station?
    Goodluck with that...

    Wow-

What a tool of a parent. You should tell the childs fathers.

One of them is bound to care.

You should have called a surgeon while you were at it, she deserves to be neutered too.

Well i hope youve learned the obvious lesson from all this.

Next time, just use the 10 day post express method to get your passport.

Unfortunately I can't wait 10 days, hence the reason for the horrendous
    trip to the passport office.
