    Sumos do pop up after the first couple of inches, you're not lifting close ot your max at the minute but when you do breaking off the ground will become harder.

    I was thinking that, it'll be interesting to see when i get heavier on em.

    I'm not gonna include the pullups and such i'm doing at home, doing 3 sets of various grips most days, around 10 reps.

    Bench was tough. i don't like the bench in the new gym, too low. even lower than the one in the old gym... not saying it's to blame for dodgyness of training quality but it can't be helping!

    Today was more like it. Bench was much more solid and convincing than last week. Think i've found a good setup for myself, was in a groove from set number one.

    Deadlifts, was just in the mood for heavy lifting all day. The first rep at 160kg flew up, the second rep was fugly. got pulled forward a bit, but managed it and the bar still went up faster than when i got it for 1 rep conventional the other week. If I'd done a single at 160 i probably would've had enough in the tank for 165kg or maybe 170kg. No more of that for a while though, we'll see what I get at the single lifts.

    theyre more upright row with a bit of a jump on some reps tbh. do less reps too. doubles or triples. the more reps the worse your form will get especially at heavy weights. your not really extending your hips and all the pull is with the arms. try just jumping without using the arms or racking you should notice the bar will just fly up on its own.

Don't want to be all negative, you seem to have got the hang of the new stance really quickly and with a few adjustments I'm sure you'll be pulling even more very soon.

    This smolov lark's toughness is being compounded by a lack of energy and sleep lately. Getting sorted out now though!

    Bench- Was fairly solid. Towards the end some of the reps started getting fairly slow, but were still steady. Some ass lifting in the last couple sets...

    Tomorrow shall be some lower body work, DLs anyway. Maybe some squatting, or i might leave them till the day after.

    Guuuuhhhhhh. Wasted so much ****ing time over holidays partying, drinking, sleeping and not training. Just finished the 3rd week of Smolov, which actually took me 4 weeks. So i've missed an entire week, leading up to the single lifts and all. Pissed off about that but i'll put it behind me. new year's resolution: don't be a fucking waster.

    5th Jan - Some Cardio Job

    Did some erg today. 6-7 mins warmup stroke buildup, 3 high tens, 3x 40-on 40-off, then 3x500m- 1.39, 1.40, 1.45. 2 mins rest. Last one was just painful. Surprised at how little i've gone backwards, but i suppose my increase in weight would balance a bit. Kept the rates under 30, usually 26-28.
