Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am looking to purchase a new camera to take pictures of my kids cross country and track and field events. I started taking photos this past year and making slide shows for their banquets. Someone suggested the Nikon D60 Any ideas or advice? Thanks!!!

Canon 50D or even the older 40D will do a great job for you.
I shoot all my sport with a 40D.

Yeah, the 40D is a very very capable camera for sport. Well work checking out.

Here's an example of work from someone who uses the 40D for track & field.

What's your budget, what sports are you trying to capture? What's your "qulity" expectation? I think we need more info on your needs.

    Once again,

The Body is of far less concern than the Lens you select.

The Nikon D60 would most probably be fine, or a similar Canon.

What will the lighting be like when you are shooting? (How fast a lens you need)

How close can you get to the event? (What focal length is required)

How fast is the action (How many Frames per second you need)

    What is your budget?
