Releasing An Album: Checklist?

    Hi All,
    Me and the band are recording our ep at the moment and would like to release it. I was hoping some of you who may have been through this process before could help me do up some kind of a checklist of things to do when releasing your album/ep.

    I'm thinking of using cdbaby.net or tunecore.com to get me set up for digital release and then maybe do a small run of CDs for those who still like the hard copy.

    Here are a few of the types of questions I'm trying to figure out:
    • Are there any groups or associations I need to register with ...imro...etc...?
    • Copyright?
    • DO I need a publisher?
    • Do I need to set up a label?
    • If I have any covers, how do I get permission and licensed to use the song?
    Any advice at all would be great!!
