    in Callan or surrounding areas.
I am a female and new to the area.i work in dublin everyweek, which makes it difficult to meet people.I know no one down here and would love to meet people by joining classes etc.i am married.I have a lot of friend all over the country but its not always easy to see them.
I would like for me and my husband to get to know people down here so we can build our lives here,i feel very isolated since moving down here as my family and majority of friends are in dublin.
Really want to get in to the community spirit.
    Thanks

Your not the only one. I have been living here for nearly two years and find it very difficult to meet people. I've a little girl so I don't really get to socialise so it's really hard in my situation. It seems to be very tight nit here. There is a booklet though with all the clubs and things to do in Kilkenny. You can get it in the library I think. It's called Kilkenny Life I think. It's blue and white and it's free.. Let me know how you get on. :)

I'd love to go to the bowling but Saturday is a bad day for me. I do hope some other boardies go though.

No I'm not a shy person, I mean I just havn't talked to any of them on the forum before, I havn't really commented on anything before so I would look a bit mad showing up wouldn't I...:P

I'd have to recommend boards beers, sure it sounds geeky and nerdy as hell (meeting people off the net) but its often funny how many people you'll actually know through friends of a friend etc...or at least that's how I found it in Waterford. :)

I've also been to boards.ie Photography events and pretty much everyone is sound and always have been good craic.

Callan is grand there are some groups but its a small town and like alot of small towns it ends up being close knit, I've been thinking of getting more involved with Callan Community Network to do stuff locally myself.
