I don't think it was a tactic, we're just short 2/3 players and that's the result, when your CM's are so bad they can't even pass a ball then it will keep going long, like playing with 9

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,110 ✭✭✭KevR

Why did O'Connor persist with the long ball/over the top tactic all night? It clearly wasn't working.

To be fair I thought the pitch was pretty poor. Not an ideal surface for having the ball on the ground and passing it or running with it.

How come Dundalk were able to do it

Agreed the pitch is an excuse, Dundalk pleyed on the deck and passed it around way more. Midfield was shocking bad. Really missed O Donnell. Personally think McBrien should be starting too

    King looks promising too.

I don't think it was way more; a bit more at most.

Not saying Galway played all the long balls that they did just because of the pitch only, but it definitely was a factor in my opinion.

    3-1, great win.

Anto Flood scored two. The first one was after just 2 minutes and was an absolute cracker!

Did the game start a couple of minutes early last night? Got into the ground a couple of mins before the game, or so I thought; it had already kicked off. Time on my watch and my mates was 7:43...

Luckily, we were just there in time for the first goal. :D

    Good win!

whats with all the midweek games this season. Can't get to any of them due to work and its not like they're getting bigger crowds during the week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,772 ✭✭✭civis_liberalis

Season is shorter by 2 weeks. A few extra midweek games as a result.

Anybody else think they need to lower ticket prices!?

  • Registered Users Posts: 561 ✭✭✭Foxx92

Haven't got the figures but it's one of the cheapest in the prem nad cheaper then several in the first division. A season ticket would cost less then two games in the Premiership

The Season ticket does seem like great value, I just wouldn't be willing to pay 15 into a match

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,950 ✭✭✭Pinturicchio

The thing to be considered is, would a third extra people attend matches if the adult ticket price was dropped to €10?

    No.

We can't lower them any further. As far as I'm aware, €15 is the minimum figure set by the league.

Galway United:To see Sean Connor’s team in action this season it will set you back €150 for an adult, €90 for a concession and €40 if you are under 12 years of age. If you a currently a social welfare recipient you can avail of a special price of €100.
ExtraTime’s value for money rating: Galway have incredibly good value with their season tickets. It’s also good to see a club catering for the high number of unemployed people in the country at the moment. 4/5.

Second cheapest in the Prem. Also cheaper then a number in the first division.

And Trap also singled out O'Donnell as having a very good match!
