Just starting to make enquiries about a small bit of land that i adjacent to some of our property and wondering has anybody on boards ever gone down this road or know anything about it (apart from the stuff on the council website)? Probably not too many replies to this one but who knows...

The Council have to decide to/agree to sell you the land and i dont know what the legal procedure is but here in Donegal these matters go through meetings of the council.

You should start with writing a letter requesting to buy the land, state the intended usage of it and attach a map obviously. it may do no harm at all to get your local councillor involved in this at an early stage.

Yeah, the details contained in that link would just about sum it up.
