Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So Alonso won't be travelling {boo Barton:mad:}, but Torres and Masch are supposedly ok and have been training.

    Most likely line-up

    Reina
    Arbeloa Carra Agger Aurelio
    Masch Lucas
    Kuyt Gerrard Benayoun
    Torres

Subs: Cavalieri, Skrtel, Dossena, Insua, Riera, Ngog, El Zhar.

Looking at the squad with Alonso absent, the sense of bringing in Barry in the summer becomes more apparent. If either of Masch or Lucas gets injured, it most likely means Gerrard being forced back into CM given there is no CM on the bench. There is the possibility of Spearing on the bench but I think he might have travelled to Holland for the reserves game against Ajax reserves.

Not too sure how West Ham will line-up but Scott Parker, James Collins and Kieron Dyer are all out. Cole may or may not be back.

    West Ham's recent results

    Stoke 0-1 West Ham
    West Ham 0-1 Chelsea
    Aston Villa 1-1 West Ham
    Tottenham 1-0 West Ham
    West Ham 2-0 Sunderland
    Blackburn 1-1 West Ham
    West Ham 0-0 West Brom
    Wigan 0-1 West Ham

Fingers crossed for a 3-0 win to go back to top of the league.

Also Nando is on 49 goals, so could be number 50 tomorrow;)

Carlton Cole is also out I think.

That line up/formation looks sound enough though if Yossi started on bench it would not surprise me.

    I don't think he's playing :)

Also Spearing didn't feature against the Ajax Reserves (1-0 loss Darby Og in injury time:( ) - most likely because he was still injured from a week or two ago, so it seems unlikely he will be involved in the West Ham game.

Degen also wasn't involved so is presumably fit enough to be named in the squad :eek: Don't know how likely that is though.;)

Are we not already 3 ahead on goal difference?
So any victory would put us top, at least untill tomorrow.

    You are correct,sir - I just want a 3-0 win:p

The way I phrased it was pretty poor.

Apparently Agger and Riera didn't travel.

Agger became a dad which was why he didn't travel, don't know why Riera didn't travel.

    Pepe
    Arbeloa Carra Skrtel Aurelio
    Masch Lucas
    Kuyt Gerrard Benayoun
    Torres

Subs : Cavailieri, Hyypia, Insua, Dossena, Ngog, Babel, El Zhar

I don't know what the situation with Hyypia is - not sure if he's fit. If he's out then I presume Degen to make the bench.

    Reina,
    Arbeloa, Carra, Skrtel, Aurelio
    Lucas, Masch
    Kuyt
    Gerrard---Benayoun,
    Torres.

Subs: Cavalieri, Dossena, Hyypia, Babel, Insua, Ngog, Degen.

Strong team out apart from Xabi.

Benni to score against his old club anytime 3/1 or first scorer 11/1

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Yep thats all, and that it was laid on a plate for Gerrard due to a dawdling defender (Kovac).
