Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Would'nt be harsh on Torres, having missed a game. He did win the peno and had a couple other goes at goal.

Agree, its a workmanlike thrashing of a decent team, nothing more.

First moment and Babel flunks it.

Wouldn't be too harsh on Babel, having not played.

Nice solid performance by the lads. Kept another clean sheet which is always good. Pressure back on the Mancs which is what we need to keep doing.

Hopefully Man City will do themselves and us a favour by winning their derby. :)

    Good stuff.

Now over to Stephen Ireland to turn in a blinder tomorrow. If he does, and they get a result, I will make it my business to buy him something pink for his birthday!! :)

    good win for liverpool

Mark noble is quality player, if he keeps developing like he is, he could go to a big 4 club in the future

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,160 ✭✭✭tok9

    Good efficient performance....

2 comfortable wins on setanta in a row now!!!

i thought lucas was great today... played well defensively, always looked for the ball and only lost the ball once or twice..

Also happy for babel... i still hope he stays

Indeed. Was very excited when we were linked to him a season or so ago.

Great result, but such an empty feeling being top of the league in May, years we've been waiting to be in this position and it's still likely to elude us.

Decent return for a striker - and he is a striker these days.

i always look at the position of players monitored to "man mark" other players

e.g. with gerrard its always a midfielder given that task, last time it was essien

Just noticed there, for Gerrards penalty, Kuyt started running around the same time from about 10meters further behind. excellent idea, he was already at full pace when the ball was saved and was the nearest to the rebound, besides Gerrard (who was obviously in a nearer starting position then the rest)

Must keep that one in mind myself!

He does that quite a bit. I commented on it in the last match thread. He was the only one reacting to shots and free kicks like that. A few times he ends up n his own in the box. A few WILL drop to him over the season.

Didnt see the game cos I was playing football but getting the early goal like that just shows the importance of that type of break. We were denied the one against stoke earlier in the season and nothing went right from then on in. The difference the goal going in makes is unreal, really lets the team settle and go on to score more.

    As at Eastlands

Gerrard and Torres enjoyed it anyway
