Right, this is one form of music thats really exciting me at the moment- well that and post-rock- I really dig the dreamy sounds of This Will Destroy You, Sigur Ros and God Is An Astronaut. Anyone have any underground bands that they'd like to recommend? Most people into doom and sludge have heard of bands like Pelican, Neurosis, Cult Of Luna, Isis etc- but has anyone heard of any gems lurking beneath?

I've recently discovered Lent0 and Amenra- 2 absolute monsters that play this sort of music. Anyone know of any others?

    Lets get it on.

Check out everything on Neurot Recordings, most bands there are at least interesting, and alot of them are quite good.

To a certain extent StandUp Guy, Intronaut and Maudlin of the Well might interest you

Yeah I'm really looking forward to seeing them support The Ocean, should be an amazing gig . The Festival with Napalm Death should be good too :D .

Aye, I cant believe Napalm Death are playing Waterford! :D Might hit that one. There's some tasty support acts at that too, including Primordial! Sweet as a nut.

I know Stand Up Guy and Intronaut and a lot of the artists of Neurot Recordings- most of which are dynamite. Enablers, Battle Of Mice and Final would be my favourites. I actually seen Justin Broadrick perform the Final project live supporting Neurosis in London a couple of years back- stunning!
