Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just found this great site with loads of referenced studies, but they talk about them in easy to understand layman terms.

Scroll down a bit and you will see loads of links.

Svannah Sanitoa, a 22-year old Samoan shot-putter, took part in the Women's 100m at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin and she did not even come last despite of her (approximately) 210 pounds.
It is far from the recently new record established by Usain Bolt with 9.58 seconds, but for a 210 lb shot-putter, 14.23 seconds is not that bad. As she said, it was a personal best and she was happy to compete on a world stage, especially after she failed to qualify for the shot put.
She was 3 seconds behind the winner but she avoided the last place that day, this place was for Tioiti Katutu (Kiribati) with 14.38 seconds.
3rd slowest out of all the heats. One guy said she is meant to be the fastest woman in her country.

Yup. I felt SO ill after the crash ended. Luckily it was just in time for the next serving. I sense the formation of a vicious circle.

I'm waiting for it to kick in at full force before I go walking.

    Yo Hanley,
If you don't mind me asking - why are you taking it then? You trying to lose weight in a hurry or just a glutton for punishment?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,981 ✭✭✭✭Hanley

    http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=68107834&postcount=2849

And I've never used anything like it before so I'm just curious.

I know damn well too that when people see the results who don't "get" training hear about the thermogenic THAT'LL be the reason. Not the 100% diet or two-a-day training sessions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,589 ✭✭✭Hail 2 Da Chimp

Also - what's with the 2 x daily training? You just trying to make the rest of us look bad or is there a competition coming up?

I suppose you're as well off trying out these things if you're not competing, it'll be handy to know if you did hit a plateau with your weight loss coming up to a comp, you could always get some thermogenics into you for a kick start.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,981 ✭✭✭✭Hanley

I took two weeks off work cos I've tonnes of annual leave left and won't get to carry it all forward, I spent a lot of the summer partying so I don't really feel like doing that for the two weeks, I'm clearly not going to sit around scratching my hoop, so the most logical thing for me seems to be train more!!

I'm not really doing crazy serious 2x a day training or anything, just lifting in one session and then getting an hour or cardio and some mobility/rolling in the second.

If you plateau with weight loss coming up to a comp you're basically fcuked cos it means you have to push hard to get it down, the harder you push the more likely you are to lose strength. That's why I'm making the effort to get my weight down to competition level 6 months ahead of time!!

And yeah... making people look bad is a nice side benefit :p
