Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I was 91kg this morning... I WAS 110kg :p

    I'm currently 95.1kg.

8lb gained in 8 hours - that's good going right? Esp considering how much dirty spine has been liberated during the day too.

Ah okay it just says their equipment can't allow heavier. I presume bigger weight could be catered for with the right gear.

I think it's only tandem jumps, right? I figure the parachutists don't want to be tied to a heiffer for possibly their last few moments of life.

The parachutes they use probably hold twice that though, these ones just have to hold both of you, hence the weight restriction for the amateur. So about 180kg or so for each parachute?

    Rubbish.
Oversized meat ball is an absurdly large bap with potato shavings.

I have no doubt this was served in some pretentious hole with the word gourmet on the door.

Seen the website, it's from serious eats yeah?

how could you skip this bad boy

    20100722-oldfashioned-burger.jpg
made with local grass-fed beef, grilled over a live fire and topped with fried onions, Bavaria's hickory-smoked bacon, aged cheddar, garlic sauce, and a soft-cooked egg on a buttered and toasted roll.

    And those things to the left are;
    house-made beer-battered fresh cheese curds

    My thoughts exactly.

Looks like someone ate EightBalls, realised that they can't get big from eating something like that, then raufed it back into the bun before going to get a chinese.

I'm gonna throw this out there:
Gourmet Burger Kitchen have the best burgers, ever!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,025 ✭✭✭d'Oracle

I'm gonna throw it back in.

Couple of important rules to the burger.

    1) The bun is secondary. It exists to soak up fat and supply carbs. Anytime the bun takes up more space than the meat, you have a burger fail.

    2) The pattie should never be more than a 1/4 as high as it is wide. You may think the oversized meat-ball is giving you a big burger, but next to 3 well patted 1/4 pound slabs you are missing out on meat.

    3) following on from 3, toppings & flavours will NEVER account for lack of a meat.

    WRONG!

Fallon & Byrne ... greatest burgers of all time. And instead of paying 18euro for one in the restaurant you can buy the same burgers for 2.50 at the butchers counter downstairs and cook em up at home.

    +1
my father always gets those superbundies and then does not make the patties wide enough so you end up with a meatball in a massive bun.

On the BBQ I get tinfoil and spread out 2 patties very thinly on foil and put it directly on the BBQ, this way it cooks a bit and sticks together and begins to shrink, then you flip it over and peel off the foil. I also do this on frying pans using non stick "magic sheets". Then have the 2 patties ontop of each other in the bun.

Keeping off topic I only found out the other day that the playstation 3 is hacked and you can backup games and play them off the HD or an external HD, but if you have updated the firmware recently it cannot be hacked, if you get a new one in the shop it is probably not updated. You can probably not play online anymore and some new games will not be playable unless you upgrade. The DS was similarly hacked a long time ago.
