Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Yeah but it's a jerk not a snatch :D

That bench video is hilarious :p

Yeah, happened at this year's Arnolds. Here he is c&jing 211. Squat jerk always freaks me out.

You can see Pat Mendes compete in that vid too. 175/207. Wonder if we'll see a 200+ snatch from him in competition any time soon.

What kinda numbers does he need to be hitting to qualify for the american team for london assuming he decides to go that way?Im assuming he has hit them already in training and it's just a case of entering them in a comp? Not too sure how the qualifying process works..

Not too sure either. He had the fourth best sinclair at the Arnold's so I presume he's there or there abouts and you'd assume he has a bigger total to come too.

Here's the US rankings so far for this years world's. Mendes is second at the moment. I'd say it would be a lot clearer at the end of the year.

    US Rankings

With a rotator cuff issue I think.
Jon North looking good in the 94 div, he's not far off breaking the american snatch record. Needs to add maybe 7kg

Losing it with Jillian - amazing show. Fake reality TV featuring Jillian Michaels screaming abuse at fat people until they cry.

Who cares if it reenforces their belief that excercise =mysery? Its makes good TV.

Is 20 too late to start BJJ/Muay Thai/Judo/Boxing? (Sorry, I don't really know the difference right now) Not planning on fighting, but everyone I know that does it has been doing it since a very early age.

College work and exams must be suppressing my inner monkey.

God damn. Not wishing violence on anyone, but if one of them did eat her in one gulp, live on TV, I think I'd be ok with it. Wagon!

is it too late? F*ck no. I started it in January at 24 and got a silver in the IP Submissin Wrestling Tournament last weekend. Like anything, you'll get out of it what you put into it.

I'm confused, was it not the case that Iran wanted to boycott?
    But decided not to?

Iran are still competing, despite the IOC rejecting their demands to change the logo. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12724166

    silly question here

if 2 people are working out the same, lets say every second day in the gym, doing mostly weights, and one drinks a protein shake before and after the workout, what difference would it make?

i assume it means the person drinking the shake will build muscle quicker? does that mean he's actually be stronger or will he just look stronger?!

you have permission to put this in the stupidest health and fitness thing after you answer the questions :)

Depends on their diets over all. Protein supplements are just that. Supplements to a diet like.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 698 ✭✭✭Rossin

well according to fitday im about 50% carb 30% fat 20% protein

would it be worth my while taking supplements? ive been trying to change my diet but its hard cause i still live at home so while its all well and good to try eat more meat and less carbs, when its put in front of you there's not much you can do :)

im in the gym at least every second day and running/football on other days

No harm in trying. Dunno what your gaols are. Drinking milk for mass works generally. I have a protein shake with dinner and a VitC+zinc tablet.

There's a section for diet and supplements on this forum too.

Not benching for months has a negative impact on your pressing strength.

    Who'd have thunk it.

Ok, this video is funny for two reasons:

    1. They are actually taking it serious
    2. They actually managed to fit steamed broccoli into the lyrics

    Enjoy :D
