Trolling...it's got to be trolling, right?

I was gonna go with the lad not being all there, but this...
University study. Ten healthy young men masturbated. While they were doing this, their blood was drawn—before, during and after. It is unclear if they had to clean up.

I had a decent PE teacher. I can't remember his exact qualifications but he was certified for lot of stuff. He use to do a lot of outdoor activites with us like hillwalking or canoeing. PE was never just a game of football but stuff like circuit training.

He tried to teach us nutrition as well. But we were too young and stupid to appreciate the effort he was putting in. Great teacher!

Very random question for any of ye who do a bit of travelling, what do you do in terms of carrying supplements?

Im travelling to the US and Mexico in February for two weeks and will be training while over there but I'm not sure what I should do in terms of protein supplementation. The obvious answer is to consume as much through food as possible but this won't be possible the whole time. Anyone any advice on this?

I don't think they would take too kindly to me bringing containers of powder through each of the borders :D:D

^^The not cocaine part is vital there :-)

So just lob it into a clear bag, maybe with a label from the original container?

Can't seem to spot the pouch on Discount Supplements, although I know the one you're on about. Never thought of that!

Also has this as an option, 24x24g sachet:

I love how people are so convinced their bodies are constantly looking for the first opportunity to cannibalize your muscle mass that you're prepared to risk a full body cavity search rather than a 2 week window without protein supplements.

    Well done Mark *applause*

Sorry, I just wanted to minimise disruption to both my training and nutrition routine while I was travelling. Is this the wrong approach to take?

    Any helpful advice to add?

EDIT: That sounded quite bitchy but what I mean is I sometimes struggle to get back on track nutrition wise if I take large breaks so I'm trying to avoid that hurdle, I've enough of them as it is :D

Maybe you could just wait and buy some whey protein over in the US? Any pharmacy will usually stock supplements/protein (and they should be a good bit cheaper than in a bricks 'n' mortar shop here anyway).

You be better off doing a small bit of research into diet and nutrition rather than worrying about lack of supplements. You don't need protein powder for those two weeks. America isn't exactly known for small portions so getting in enough meat (or other protein source) shouldn't be an issue if you understand your intake.

Look at it this way, how many protein shakes would you drink per day. How many grams of protein is this. How much real food would you need to add to replace this. Achievable?

Once your training is kept in check during your holiday, your diet wont have a huge effect (once you dont go overboard completely).

In America you can buy RTDs in 7-Elevens. Though if it was me, I'd be over to iHop for pwo protein :D

I certainly do but I think the poster may be travelling for work? In which case I can sympathise.

Fair point, when you look at it that way I'm only really looking at 80g protein a day. As you say it should be achievable given the amount of opportunities to eat I should have!

Sorry to disappoint guys but it is a holiday rather than work haha. I enjoy training as much as I do travelling so the opportunity to train in some different surroundings just adds to the holiday for me (saddo much??). Maybe giving the nutrition side a break for the week is no harm, was probably better off rephrasing my initial question to be "when you go on holidays do you worry about supplements".

Lesson learned guys and gals :D

there's a GNC in nearly every town/mall over there, they have a decent selection, some will let you sign up as a member on the spot (even if you dont live there) and get 15-20% off

I remember seeing an American supplement company called AI Sports nutrition sending out samples in little see through baggies. They said not one of their overseas samples got stopped. I don't think you'd have too much trouble if you do decide to bring the protein with you. As people said though, supplements are a lot cheaper over there so you could just buy over there OR treat yourself to a savage post workout meal :D

If you ever see those border patrol tv programs they seem to prefer to see stuff in original commercial packaging. If they think its drugs they can test it so no real worries there. The only risk is it might be thrown out.

In these programs they usually only get fined if it is undeclared. Some dairy products might be restricted in some places though -but that is all your protein powder is, remember that, its only food which people bring abroad all the time. If there are no additional chemicals in it then there is no real difference between you and a mother bringing powder formula for her child which contains dairy products.

Only some countries seem strict about food, never heard the US being overly cautious, usually Australia & NZ. If it is bags you are probably still OK since it seems certain countries of origin are blacklisted, where they have lax laws on food production. I doubt ireland is blacklisted, dunno if foot & mouth is still going around though. Or if dried dairy could harbour stuff longer.

Also remember customs people will follow the law, not some joe duffy bollocks they heard about protein powder being steroids.
