Keeping chickens !

    Anyone know where I can get a hen house and chickens in the cork area.

    As for the hens have a look at

    You could also ask at the farmers markets someone there is bound to know something. I'd love to keep a few chickens myself but I'm only getting to grips with the veggies - maybe next year.

    oooh and there is a thing u get for the hens to live in, it looks like a giant hamster cage with compartments and runs etc, its called an eggloo! apparently its foxproof..... my bfs sister is having probs with her fox, so are her hens...

    I looked at the Eglu & at that timethey were not delivering to Ireland - I believe they are now but on top of the £388 sterling for the Eglu, there's a fair delivery charge.....

    Thanks for that - hadn't realised they were that readily available :D. I had four 8ft x 8ft raised beds last year, but had to clear two for some work to the drains, so I'm thinking of puttng one of them back & replacing the fourth with a chicken run........
