Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

King on. Wrong choice but I ain't complaining. Come on you Toon. I won't be comfortable until we score three. :)

Wow, Huth commits a cynical obstruction when Owen looked clean through. Adjudged that he wasn't the last man, so just the yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

    Fcuking Huth.

Boro look good on the break. We need to sort that out.

Newcastle V Boro now comes with a montage with my stream.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,407 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Emnes misses another decent chance. Not a sitter this time though, but nonetheless he needed to do better.

Boro have established a much steadier footing in this game since the Emnes chance from thin air.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,407 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Duff has done well at full back thus far...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

We need half time now. We're giving Boro a foothold in this match now after our good spell of pressure. Regroup, attack and demolish the Smoggies.

    TOON TOON.

Come on. I need an excuse to drink tonight.

Wasn't an easy chance for him with the pace on it, not sure who hit it at him, but a better shot was on for them.

King looks better than Alves (not hard i hear you say) he will have to be marked tightly in the 2nd half,

as they started, level at half time.

Anyone notice how bloody aggressive Middlesbrough are? They're pushing and shoving as much as they want with nothing be done about it. Spidey is being shoved all over the place, ridiculous.

Afaik Emnes' first start for us tonight. What a time to gamble by Southgate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

bright start from Newcastle, unfortunate to be behind and then the post! Boro looking better the longer the half went on! nervy stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Phew. Half time. This is when you need to give them the half time talk of your life Shearer.

Jesus Marlon King has really lost that burst of pace that made he great for Waford.

Yup. You'd almost swear this game is worth millions of sterling to the winner...

Nothing to do with team talks.

Players of the calibre of the likes of Newcastle's tonight shouldn't need a team talk to save themselves from relegation.

The players are as much to blame for this mess as the backroom, imo.

They are an absolute disgrace to be in this position.

It was Downing. I thought he should have shot aswell, but he would have had to do it with his right foot. Maybe doesn't fancy it as much with that side.

Harper needs to command the box a bit more, couple of times he hasnt come out when needed.

He has been. Makes you think why is this his first start when he's partly what we've been missing all season.

I'm only talking about this match. The right words from Shearer could really boost our players for the second half.

A boring 0-0 this most definitley is not!! Expecting hairy moments in both penalty areas in 2nd half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

    Get in there!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're aware there's a match thread for this yes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

    Half a chance there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,407 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Newcastle have come out all guns blazing it seems.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

If Mike Dean saw pushing in the box should he not have given a penalty or did his whistle go first?

    Great save from Harper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,407 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Big save from Harper to deny O'Neill after a scrappy build up - Newcastle should have cleared the ball long before it got to him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,591 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

Good strike from O Neill there.

Might he go three up top?

Not the way Boro's best chances are coming on the counter attacks i wouldn't think.

Owen isn't offering much though, still has enough pace to do these boro defenders, but his finishing isn't there

I reckon so. It seems to be the best option I think. Don't see much coming from midfield. It'll still be like 4-4-2 because Owen won't contribute anything.

Come on lads. We're being penned in here a little bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,407 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Aieee Tuncay - need to make that pass.

Great end to end entertainment is this game!

Boro definitely looking the most dangerous.

    Newcastle look absolutely toothless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5
