I assume they are simply plaster board walls yes? If so, then unfortunately the only real way to stop the noise is a bit of Soundproofing. But you would have to soundproof her side not your own. The way I did mine was by Hanging all my T-shirts against all the walls and just taking them down as I want to wear them. It stops the sounds of a Guitar, so why not her No Pants Dance.


However you will probably find that she is unlikely to hang T-shirts all over her room, so I suggest you Download some of Liz Phairs older song's. Particularily "Fcuk and Run" and blare it as they are doing the deed. She will get the message.

ill echo what others have said about pillows, we used to have to wedge a pillow in between the headboard and wall, til i got home one day to find a a teatowel taped to the headboard, not had to do the pillow thing since.

Brilliant suggestion! Failing that, jokingly bringing it up should sort it out. Failing that, can you move your bed to the other side of the room and ask her to help? say that the darn radiator pipes banging are doing your head in and she needs to help you move the bed - she should get the hint

welll folks I broached the subject eventually, told her that my mother was coming to stay soon, and that I'm sure she wou;dn't want people knowing her "private" business.. She was a bit ok..sorry, whats the big deal, but I was like my mother can't be hearing that...
