Question about my westie

I have a female westie who is a year old. I noticed that the hair around her vagina in brown and she is always licking that area. Her pee seems to be clear. Anyone has an idea what the issue would be ?

Well, the brown staining may to be due to saliva, from all the licking. Could she be in heat? (the discharge is often a browny colour towards the end of the cycle). Either that or she may have a urinary tract infection or vulvar dermatitis (Westies are very prone to skin diseases). Get her checked out by a vet, she's probably making herself sore from licking, and is obviously uncomfortable, whatever the reason.
