Full fat dairy products

FWIW I thought I'd post my experiences.
Was trying for kids for over 2 years with my wife (a fairly healthy eater - she only ate low fat dairy products).
Anyway I'm a scientist by training and stumbled across an article in New Scientist concerning affect of diet on fertility.
Essentially the research showed women on full fat dairy products had a 25% higher chance of conception.

Wife switched to full fat -
Two years and 2 kids later here we are.

    FWIW Here is the link

I haven't seen many links to this research in the Irish media.
Makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint as certainly in the case of Europeans there was an evolutionary advantage to having dairy in the diet.

I know it is harder for underweight women to concieve (not enough "reserves").

Was your wife a bit underweight perhaps?

Quite the opposite as a matter of fact !
She was at an idiot of a doctor who told her - "slightly overweight women like yourself find it more difficult to conceive".

Would love to see his face now 2 years later if she went in with 2 kids in tow.

I do agree with the research though - it was an extensive sample of women and the results are pretty conclusive.

It's an interesting study I have to say.

I wonder what it is about dairy fat over other types of fat that shows these results.

Europeans evolved to digest dairy products - presumably it was a steady source of food in a harsh climate:

I guess full fat dairy is a signal to your body that all is well.

Note - this may not apply to everyone as the majority of non European adults and even 10% of Northern Europeans are lactose intolerant:
