Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just to let anyone know on short notice that the Becket Bridge will be heading up the Liffey from The East Link from about 1.30pm today (in about an hour or so). It was postponed from last night due to high wind.

Well I haven't been reading or watching any news. Where is it going to be located, where's the final stop?

It's going to be moored on a pontoon for a few weeks.
Think it will be lifted into place in early June.

It's going between Machen Street on the south to the street just beside the new convention centre on the north. I was down looking at it last night, over on the north docks and it's really much less impressive than it could have been. I would assume that it will be more impressive when it's installed and lit up, much like the other bridge that he has designed up the other end of town (can't remember what that's called either)

Traffic has now been halted at the East Link Bridge. The barge is moving towards the Bridge. The Bridge itself will open at 2.30pm and the whole process will take approximately one hour.
    Regards
    Rachel

Job done...The Bridge was back down at 3.00pm and the first vehicles back through the East Link Toll Plaza by 3.10pm. All over in less than an hour.
    Regards
    Rachel

Seems fairly flimsy, who will be first to drive over it :)

On the other hand it does look fairly interesting, looking forward to seeing the photos when it's in place and lit up.

Well since the guy is based in Rotterdam, it's likely he took it there, when it departed for Ireland.

It was impressive looking at the organization of it going through the East link but it was bloody cold.

But my Brownie 2a is working...nearly dropped it into the water too.
