I've been asked to look at Moodle on behalf of a friend to see if would suit her organisations requirements.

The organisation is small in terms of staff and has over 2000 members. The organisation is looking at putting in-service training on the web as classroom courses are too difficult and expensive to organise.

Most of the work will be presented in slide form, with some video clips. There will be online quizes also.

My fear is that monitoring and administering will be very time consuming. I also think that the forum side won't work as all the courses are specialist and therefore each course will only be of interest to 100 or so members.

My gut feeling is to tell her to create simple semi-linear courses using video clips, powerpoint presentations and simple open-source quiz and feedback modules. I'm fearful of the learning curve to get Moodle going.
