Am I allowed to make a thread asking people to join a Facebook group?

It's a group which is calling for a nightclub which was recently closed to be re-opened. A lot of boardsies mentioned that they wished it hadn't, so would it be ok if I posted a link to the group? I'm guessing no, but no harm in trying...
