Crazy slow for me atm, I'm on the 20 Mb package and have been getting less than 1 mb for the last few hours. Speedtest.net would not even finish a test for me.

I'm on the 40mb line in Galway city, with no problems for as long as I can remember.

40Mb? Surely you mean 20Mb, right?

Surely I do. Hrm, why did I think it was twice that?

    That is a crazy ping.
What do you get on UPC's own speedtest?

Im having the exact same problems, nearly exactly half the speed i normally get.
Im on the 20mbit package and am gettin between 6 and 10mbit. It is limited to this 24hrs a day for last 3-4 days. I am a heavy user so if throttling was ever to be or has just been introduced then id be pretty close to top of the list to get shafted! Anyone else in galway suffering lower than normal speeds?

Guys....In the past week or 2 there has been many many posts in relation to problems with UPC Broadband .

I myself have posted issues I am having when on line gaming (never a problem til recently) and i have read at least 12 other threads started in the past 5 days in many different forums all related to different issues with UPC BB.

I think we may be having contention issues :o as they word out there is that UPC have been flooded with new customers taking up their new BB / PHONE/TV offer , I hope I am wrong and its down to upgrade works  ,

Keep an eye and us updated .

    M.

Don't throw your eyes up to heaven with regards upgrade works, they are pumping alot of money into upgrades, and with 120mb available next year I don't doubt the fact that they are working now for that.
