Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

thanks! I just saw the reflection of the sun on paving and tried to photograph it, camera below my knee close to the ground.

The camera ended up focusing on the girls bottom. result :D

Give over well ya!! It's the free film and tirned to B+W on Picasa.

But with reason too. I do take the photos in B+W mode and with all the intention of but I can't be arsed (nor afford at the mo) being fussy on film. I'm still just a simple enough snapper working on composition. The science doesn't really grab me. I really enjoy your work and reading what everyone does with film in the production sense but I myself just snap away in the cheapest possible way. It's grand, I would like to advance a bit but not too far away from composition. I do think I need a scanner 1st and then crack on. But really it is just fun, but there's no reason fun can't be beautiful or interesting and exciting too.
I got bogged down a few year ago in the process to such an extent I got bored and threw the camera in the corner for years. So these days I'm on restart and and playing with a number of compositional studies (ok stop laughing, thart's the best I could come up with).

So to answer simply: fuji iso200 colour, slightly cropped and darkened in Picasa.

Simplicius, those shots look amazing for ISO 12500! What developer did you use?

I really like the old-fashioned black-and-white street style. Don't feel comfortable enough shooting strangers on the street to be much good at it though.

Developed these tonight. Camera was an Olympus XA, great little thing, so small and easy to use.

Developed them in Microphen for 16.5 minutes with a strong 10" agitation . you can find developement details on www.filmdev.org not just for those but loads of useful combos with pictures to see if it is the look you like.

They are pretty nice. What MF camera though ? I figure 35mm sort of balances out. You can push the 120 a couple more stops and not worry about the grain too much, OTOH the fastest MF lens that I know of is 2.8 or so, which is 2 stops slower than a 1.4 on a 35mm cam, so you can shoot the 35mm two stops faster, thus allaying any benefit from being able to shoot the MF at that speed.

I was also looking around for a 50mm 1.8, prices range from 130 (camera ex grafton st) to 145. Keep an eye out on adverts as well I got a nice little deal there this week, 50+lowepro bag.

To answer your question firstly the camera is an old Minolta Autocord TLR that has a max aperture of f/3.5. I see where you are coming from with with the stop sizes and pushing. I tried 35mm at 12,800 and the grain seemed larger. but technically I suppose their shouldn't be a difference.

The MF camera I find, is better for handheld at lower speeds as you can use your body to brace it, also the larger neg ( those are the full neg scanned & uncropped) leave you way more room when printing for cropping.

I'll get around to repeating my experiment on 35mm soon and will update you if I find anything interesting.
