Never be surprised if people dont want to help/work with children if they aren't family members, **** like this is really what can happen!
It's sad and I hate people who make false accusations, this area can ruin a persons life!

    b28,

You are perfectly correct; it does ruin a person's life. It is now about 6 years after the event; I am being treated for depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress syndrome (that even made me raise an eyebrow but it is what the psychiatrist diagnosed!). I stayed in the job because to leave would have been tantamount to saying I was guilty but I have paid the price for this and am now resigning a few years before my time with loss of earnings and loss of pension as a result but at least at home I can live in some peace and make the most of the rest of my life.

False alligations are not uncommon, know someone very close to me that had it done to him...

He got his kids taken from him and placed into care... knew from the get go he was wrongly accused because at said time and place of allegations he was with his kids and a family friend..

Took 3 years to get sorted out, he was found not guilty...

Nobody took into account the girl was 14 at the time she said it happened and going out with a 22 year old at the time, and was known to be going with every man in a 5 mile radius.. She had been pestering this poor bloke for months but didn't give up..

She had a grudge against the man because he didn't like her so she decided to accuse him of rape.. Needless to say i think she should be held solely responsible, she lied, ruined a family for nearly 4 years and she just gets to walk away from it. Where's the justice?

What I want to know is where are the feminists in all of this? And the Judean Peoples Front?

Why should he have been docked pay?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I have been in the position of being falsely accused, investigated and completely cleared. Dreadful experience involving investigation by Board of Management, referral to Health Board, Gardai, Bishop, Dept of Ed.

Jesus... what in gods name did a Bishop have to do with any of this?
(Normally I'd try and make a joke about him being brought in as an 'expert witness' but this if f*cking ludicrous)

I know of two cases in the last 3 years where young men in their late 20s have been accused of rape by teenage girls.

In both cases it was related to money between the family of the accused and the family of the 'victim', in both cases it was clear that the accused hadn't done it, and in both cases it had gotten as far as the high court before the charges were dropped.

Both men had two odd years of their life completely ruined, both are still currently suffering from health problems as a result of the stress they were under and both have been, bit by bit, trying to restore their status and clear up the 'no smoke without fire' bullsh*t in their local communities.

Neither has ever or will ever get so much as a letter of apology from the victim, never mind financial compensation or, god forbid, justice.

The school was a Catholic school which is under the patronage of the local bishop - as is the case with the vast majority of schools in the country.
