Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wireless connectivity problems

I was having some connectivity problems with my wireless back in January but buying a 5 GHz router solved the problem. However since I bought a new laptop I've been having the same problem again even with the new router.

Under XP I keep getting the balloon message stating that my wireless is now connected. I can also see from the event log and the router's log that the connection has reconnected. Yesterday it happened five times in two hours. I've tried different drivers for the wireless adapter, an Intel 5300, and also changed the channel on the router. Unusually, changing the router back to 2.4 GHz seems to reduce the frequency of the disconnects but doesn't solve them entirely (I find this odd since 2.4 is completely clogged). The router is about 2m away from me and there's no physical obstructions.
I've checked online and the only "solution" I have found is to disable XP's balloon messages entirely but I don't want to do this as it just covers up the problem rather than fixing it. So I'm starting to think it's an incompatibility with my router which probably can't be corrected. :( My previous laptop had an Intel 4965 card and this worked fine. Any ideas?
