Try Hertz etc for the van bit, personally I have found Eircom to be the most reliable for broadband and they have a call package atm which I have where you get free meteor and landline calls off peak, quite good if you work during the day.

To the best of my knowledge there are no van rental companies that have depots to drop the vans off in Dublin from the UK.

I do same/next day UK to Ireland removals and could take you and your belongings (and another passenger if required) direct from London to Dublin helping you load and unload with full insurance cover etc.

It's not cheap, with ferry prices for vans and then fuel, but it's an alternative to renting your own and having to drop it back and fly back to Dublin.

With regards broadband, if you can get it, I think NTL who also go by the name UPC, offer the best package, 24 euro a month for broadband, phone and tv. I know you don't care for the tv package, but it's still the best price you'll get for the broadband and phone so if you can get it, I'd advise that.
