If I knew how to service it I would! It was off the road for 2 years, so would prefer it to get a full going over, just in case. The top engine mount needs replacing cause it keeps kicking when I accerlerate/decelerate!

Buy a haynes manual, and a few tools, they are really easy to work on!, top mount is easy once ydont break the bolt.

Id just do the usual, plugs, oil, filters, bleed the brakes and make sure everything is nice and tight. Use 20w50 oil, dont use to 15w40 rover spec;)

    Cian,

I got a call yesterday from a woman selling an '89 Mayfair with 66k, asking 1000 at <SNIP>. She has no interest in Minis, just wants it gone.

    Hope it helps,

    Billy

If you could PM me the number that would be great man.

Nice little motor you got there

You say your looking for a mechanicthat specialises in minis

    If your on the northside

    Paul Kelly in Minifix

    OR

If you on the southside / Lucan area

Paul Hickey in Hickey Race enginnnering

Both guys are very helpful and know minis inside out and on any occassion that I delt with them they were fantastic.

    As for the clubs
    www.irishminis.ie
    www.miniresource.ie

Youll find alot of guys and girls in either with a love for the mini and Im sure they will give you a helping hand along the way too if you need it

<SNIP> That comment will only lead to more off topic posts. Let is rest.

    Best advice

Give it a try .....You never know
