Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wow, this is actually the first post I think I've ever read on Boards that made me think "I would actually like to meet this person."

I'm a little shocked to be honest.

For the record, I have quite a few books but nowhere near enough, I make actual mixtapes for myself and my friends and I happen to love Kinder chocolate. Just so you know.

I haven't made a mix tape in a long long time but my friend Turlough made me one for my 21st a few years ago. Bags of awesome. If a girl were to make me a mixtape, I'd take her to the registry office as that hasn't happened in about 5 years!

No one ever makes me mix tapes :( So I make them for myself, 'cause I still have a tape player (I actually forget what a tape player is called now!) in my bedroom and I like to be able to make tapes of my favourite songs. Then one day you find a really old tape and you put it on and it reminds you of all the things you used to do, all the people you hung out and you still remember all the words.

If a guy made me a mix tape, I'd probably be happy for the rest of my life.

If I made a mix tape, many would go WTF? :D Swapping books is de rigeur. Goes without saying. That said the books I get into? Again mostly WTF? I have weirdly eclectic tastes. I dont read fiction for a start. So straightaway that marks me as a tad strange. :) Kinder? Yep know that one. Recall the ad where the grandfather hands out kinder surprise choccies to kids. A touch too catholic for my tastes. ;):D

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Someone made me a mixed CD before. In amongst a load of love songs, this song came on.

Hahaha, if you made a mix tape, it wouldn't be like, "Yay, he remembers tapes!", it'd be, "Oh, has he not heard of cd's?" :P:pac: No one would go wtf though, a mix tape is a mix tape! It's the fact someone has gone to effort of putting together songs they think you'll like, or hope you'll like, or know you like, and on a tape! I dunno. I was just obsessed with making tapes when I was a kid. :)

No guy has ever swapped books with me, ever, so it does not go without saying. The closest I've gotten to a guy who liked to read was a guy who said he bought fhm for the articles.

You said it was too milky for your taste before... That's when I realised we couldn't be friends haha :P:D

I got a Kinder Egg last christmas as a little joke present. I won't lie, it was one of the best presents I got. I happen to have the little toy thing beside me right now actually. Odd little sheep thing. Don't like bueno's either, or anything with Hazelnut really. Nutella I can manage though.

I'm actually starting a cassette based record label, bringing tapes back, one tiny release at a time. Should have the first one in the shops before the end of the summer. And our first vinyl, though thats different.

As for not swapping books, thats madness. Definitely the best way to find out what a person is like (beyond you know, conversation and stuff) is by what literature they buy and actually read. I don't get as much time as I'd like to read what I want, I have a lot of reading to do for for college which takes up most of my time but I'm hoping to get through a lot during the summer. Get back to the Russians for a bit before going on a Flann O'Brien binge. Thats the plan anyway.

This guy was a complete wannabe romantic about 97% of the time though, so it cracked me up when listening to it!

There's another thing, romance shouldn't be forced and generic... it should be what suits the two people together.

I'd much rather a guy who'd pick me a daffodil when out for a walk, than send me flowers to my house "anonymously".

I like out-of-control hairy chests and I´ve no problem with moderately hairy backs and arses.

I like backs and a nice bum and arms.

I like when men make faces at kids on public transport.

I like men who don´t take themselves seriously but pull serious faces when the need arises and it looks like they´re going to burst out laughing any second.

I like men who aren´t groomed.

    I like very large hands.

    *Swoon*

I want a guy who makes everything fun again. The one who thinks drives to nowhere aren't a waste of petrol, but just the perfect time to talk and listen to music and see things you've never seen before. Someone who doesn't think stopping to play Hide & Seek in a field of sunflowers is stupid.

I want someone who makes 7am worth it. Someone who makes getting up in the morning the best part of the day, because you know you have hours of time to spend with them and you could do almost anything in the world.

I read an article once that said the part of the brain which produces "bonding" chemicals is at top of the forhead and that kissing it stimulates it and thats why you should give babys kisses there.

Also it said that kissing on the lips comes from a way Apes feed their children, they place their food in their between their lips and the baby takes the food using their lips (thereby 'kissing') which also stimulates bonding chemicals.

I have no link for proof, I think its just a theory anyway

What I like about the opposite sex? I like when I'm out wth him and we're
in opposite ends of the room and he looks at me like I'm the only person there.
I like it when I can talk to a guy for hours and neither of us notice the time
because we are genuinely interested in what the other has to say, Most of
all I like the quirky things we know about each other that no one else does!

  • Registered Users Posts: 35 Apres Moi

Ooh, dark curly or wavy hair.
    Tallness.
    Boys who cycle.
When a guy wears a nice shirt and pushes up the sleeves so they sit just below his elbows. Nngh, that one kills me, no idea why. Also when said shirt is slightly open at the neck and you get to see that little dip between the clavicles. A lot of people have posted on that one.

Really though, I've a broad tolerance for a lot of types. The only real "musts" I have are good teeth - not perfect, just clean and fairly straight - and they have to be smart. Cos, you know, stupidity might be sexually transmitted.

Another one for small hands here i dont know why guess i just find it cute.

Tattoos but not just any tattoos have to be in the right place and have a design to them.

Kind heartedness always get me with women.

bubbly personality to mainly because at times i can be shy when getting to know them helps me to relax a bit.

also if im being honest a nice bum drives me wild.

I like that, people who dont necesarily have to be "doing something" in order to have fun hanging out. some of the best chats me and the missus have ever had were in our cars just going for a spin to nowhere, or grabbing some munchies and sitting in a car park somewhere, I always prefer that to mindlessly sitting on the couch watching tv and only talking about whats going on in front of you.

Oddly, I like a guy with broad shoulders but with kind of a tapered middle. I don't like guys to be too buff or too skinny though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,713 ✭✭✭✭Novella

I like it when a guy hugs you for so long that he's not hugging you anymore, he's holding you and it feels like you're a jigsaw that's just been put together. I also like when you're with loads of people and he looks at you and it feels like you're exchanging loads of tiny secrets with a glance.

I love that my girlfriend is shorter than me so her head sits exactly on my chest when I hug her, and she has to go on her tippy toes to kiss me when shes in her bare feet, and now shes away for a week and I'm all gooey for her, boooo :(

I like chicks that stick their ass out and their chest forward, so they sort of look like an elongated S.
    I find that super sexy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,235 ✭✭✭Odaise Gaelach

I used to study Computer Science with this one girl who I thought of as being "pretty enough".

At the end of one day we were in a lecture theatre that had a piano in it. At the end of the lecture we went up to the piano, she sat down and started playing classical music that she knew off by heart. And she was really, really good at it too.

By the time she had finished she'd gone from "pretty enough" to "the sexiest woman in the world". For me, talent like that really adds to a woman's attractiveness.

    ...And I can't play anything...
