Ok I worked it out! Thank u!

You're right, I know Hollyoaks was orignially pitched as a 'teen soap'! That said my Mom (who hates all soaps) raves about how 'well' Hollyoaks handles touchy/controversial issues

When they get it right, they do it really well. I, for one, LOVED the Hannah/Melissa anorexia storyline. Emma Rigby's acting was fantastic. But then the later relapse storyline just seemed too rushed and was just used as a catalyst for her exit.
I do really like the Jason/Jasmine storyline. Fair play to them for doing something different. I'm not sure what's going to happen there. Whether that other girl will "out" her or something, I don't know.

I actually missed that one (I think was away or back but not 'back into hollyoaks yet'.) I just saw her (Hannah) relapse and she did seem to make quite speedy recovery (considering at one point she was on deaths door...the next off travelling?!) I liked it in good old days (showing my age now-Im 25=officially TOO old for Hollyoaks) of Kurt+co, when Cindy had her baby. AWFUL new family (Costellos eugh) and the other one whose name I cant be bothered to remember. Thank god for the McQueens (Im so glad Jackies softened a bit) and Darren, other than that and Jasmine and Cheryl (v OTT but I like her) not many characters I give too much of a **** bout!

    A few things...

    1) I know Tom is uber cute, but the crying yesterday??! Noooo, he looked like he was trying to emmulate some character he'd seen in a Shakespeare play??

    2) why dont many people watch/like Hollyoaks? Personally I dont watch any of the other soaps, but have been watching hollyoaks on/off last agggggges!

    3) are amy and malachy gonna die?? WHO is left from cast of just 4 years ago even at this stage>

There was suppose to be lots of deaths from the fire but so far only Steph and she could have got out if she wanted

I do watch Hollyoaks but not all the time.

It has some awful boring useless actors and sometimes it is more about how well they look than how they can act or the storyline.

Yes Tom's crying was bad yesterday and he was so beliveable when Max died.

Mercedes is another who cant act

Mal and Amy are leaving as are Jem and Ravi

So Theresa knew Warren was alive also  - I wondering now did he kill Calvin

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 34 Jools_452

Nah I dont think Warren can have killed calvin because they actually SHOWED Theresa doing so (least plausible storyline ever in my opinion-very weak!) but good twist that theresa knew warren was still alive!still no loving gilly or lil toms acting...

Hollyoaks bosses have confirmed plans for a one-off late-night special which is due to air on Channel 4 next month.

Show regulars Claire Cooper (Jacqui McQueen), Andy Moss (Rhys Ashworth) and Anthony Quinlan (Gilly Roach) will be among the stars taking centre stage in the bonus edition of the teen soap, which is to feature a dark storyline centring around Darren Day's dangerous character Danny Houston.

The drama kicks off when returnee Kathleen McQueen (Alison Burrows) threatens to report daughter Theresa (Jorgie Porter) to the police after discovering the truth about Calvin Valentine's murder. In return for her silence, she demands £2,000 - leaving her screen family facing a big predicament.

Later, Danny catches Jacqui and Rhys cheating during a game of poker in a bid to raise some funds. Furious that the pair have tried to double cross him, Danny immediately orders them to hand over the money they stole and more.

However, with his feelings for Jacqui still running strong, Danny also makes a second sinister suggestion - vowing to wipe the debt clean if he can have one night with the feisty barmaid.

Desperate to save Jacqui from having to sleep with the gangster, Rhys and Gilly team up with the McQueens to find a way to raise the cash. They also seek help from menacing Brendan Brady (Emmett Scanlan), who is brought in to con his old friend as the plot thickens.

As the action reaches a climax, Rhys and Gilly kidnap Danny's drug runner Sophia - but end up in a desperate situation when she turns a gun on them. Meanwhile, Jacqui finds herself surrounded by Danny's heavies and is forced to strip at knife point - will she be saved in time?

The one-off episode sees special guest star Donna Air take on the role of Sophia. Speaking of her casting, she commented: "I am thrilled to join the cast of Hollyoaks for the late night special. The cast and crew have been so welcoming, and I'm excited to be part of such a hit show. The storyline is great fun and I love playing the role of Sophia, she's brilliant."

Hollyoaks' late-night special - titled 'King of Hearts' - airs on Thursday, December 16 on Channel 4 and has been tipped to spark a big new storyline that will affect the lives of the characters involved forever.

Interesting..hope its not as over-hyped as the last one..I DISLIKE darren day (person/actor/character etc) and dont like that hollyoaks employed the serial love-rat especially seen as there are SO many 'bad guys' in their already..Warren, Brendan, Costello guy (well he's a cheater), the guys from late night special..........any nice people left??!

The actress who plays Jacqui is the best on the show imo and if the rumours
    of her getting raped
are true this could be a great storyline for her character

Brendan is a crap villian imo and I dont consider Carl Costello a villian

I always enjoyed Warren as a villian

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 34 Jools_452

Agreed, Claire Cooper (Jacqui) is fantastic, really like that they have started to develop her character more lately. (Before she was a bit too 'hard' and difficult to relate to!) AArgh that would be good storyline but dont want it to happen either! Also think the actor who plays Ste is good! I do seem to be the only one in world who thinks Brendan's fairly decent...! where do u get the spoilers from?

That should be good - Rhys and Jacqui are my two favourite characters at the moment, so nice to see they'll be involved in the special.
I actually like Brendan - think he's a decent villain and also extremely likeable at the same time.

Brendan is suppose to have a history with
Kris that hopefully will get explored when Kris returns briefly more than likely they slept together in the past

Hah! Why is that anyone whose gay in a soap will always sleep with ALL the other gay people in the soap..I guess maybe because there's only a small pool to choose from!!!!! Is Kris just back for min-stint? Whys Nancy still on the show? shes boooring! also whats going on with the teenage pregancy thing, the 'father' looks about 5 years old???!

Funny how when Brendan was being all moustache-smoothing-out and threatening Amy and her children last night in her hospital room, her heart rate never climbed above 90bpm.

Where did Rae come back from? I thought she was with Newt and left with him

And when did Macca go to hospital

I'm starting to wonder is Leanne started the fire, to "get rid" of Amy.

    She seems pretty twisted.

EDIT - "Soooo embarrassing ". The response of a despondant 12 year old whose mum just found out she's pregnant. Are you kidding me?
Her reaction to this whole thing had little more emotion than "Oops! Missed the bus!"

EDIT 2 - God. That scene with Mercy, Mal and Cheryl made up for it. :(

EDIT 3 - And then Amber's mum's acting ruined again. Seriously, who side steps over to someone like that?!

No, I'm not a fan of Gabby and her family - well i don't mind taylor but don't wanna watch another teenage pregnancy

Im also thinkin that when Tony finds out Dom done it, he'll take the blame and protect him like he always does.. could be exit that way

Dom is leaving as is Jem and Ravi but I dont think Tony is

    Also
A special stand-alone Hollyoaks episode focusing on Warren Fox's shock comeback is to air at the beginning of December, it has been announced.
Last month, viewers saw Jamie Lomas's bad boy character arrive back in the village more than a year after he appeared to lose his life during a massive fire at The Loft.
Since his return, the notorious villain has been back to his old ways by causing trouble in the village - but the truth about how he escaped the nightclub blaze has remained a closely-guarded secret.
However, in an episode of the soap due to air on December 1 on Channel 4, all will become clear when a series of flashbacks show how Warren cheated death on a fateful night for Hollyoaks.
Exact details of the flashbacks are expected to be kept under wraps until transmission.
Over the past few weeks, Warren has spooked schoolboy Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins) by regularly making his presence known to him. He has also targeted The Loft's new owner Cheryl Brady (Bronagh Waugh) with a sinister prank and appeared in a number of scenes with fellow returnee Mandy Hutchinson (Sarah Jayne Dunn).
Lomas recently told DS that his storyline will feature "intrigue", "mystery" and "so many twists and turns".

Was wondering if was just me thinking Leeanne might have started it! Generally Hollyoaks like to put the culprit as someone you wouldn't ever/really have expected it to be (i.e. Theresa with Calvin among others) so could well be Leeanne. Dom/warren/brendan=too obvious!!!!!! Leeannes euuurgh anyway, get her out!

WORST ACTING/SCRIPTWRITING ever re Amber and her Mum and the 'revelation'. what on earth??????!! And her Mum's pretty insensitive 'did someone make u have sex?????' (if amber had in fact been raped this would have been awful!!!) This scene was atrocious for so many reasons. There was potential there to make it much better!!!!!!

Malachy dying one-well dealt with! Cudos to Jennifer Metcalfe for finally showing her acting ability!

Jasmine horrifies her family when she reveals that she wants to be a boy but is distraught by thier harsh reaction- so she takes scissors to her wrists. She then intends to run away with Bart. But Bart finds the truth to hard to handle and breaks up with her.

The students take to internet dating. Texas bags herself a hot speciman whilst Darren and Nancy have less success but find they have an awful lot in common. Inspired by Texa's success, India decides to give online dating a try- but there's horrific consequences when India fails to return the next morning.

Wasn't he with Tom in the park when Broody Vengeful Gilly punched Bart?

EDIT: Oh you mean the baby. I thought you meant the Scottish guy :o

Ah sure. You know what soaps are like with babies. Anything that can't talk is hardly ever seen. I'd say he's "at the creche/minders/gran's (were Becca and Nancy's parents ever even in the show?)/etc"

Agreed, cant believe they've got rid of much more interesting characters with potential-malachy/zach etc and kept in Nancy! She (the actress) must be sleeping with the producer.

cant believe xmas spoilers..am bored of mercedes doing that now, would been much more interesting if had been another character..like............hmm not sure. any ideas?

Hollyoaks promised us a massive murder by the end of the year – and it’s finally here! India isn’t impressed when Tex tries internet dating – until she chaperones her sister on a date and the mystery man turns out to be hot. Fancying a Christmas romance, India sets up a date for herself, but when Nancy and Tex are too busy to ensure her safety from afar, she heads off to meet her online date alone… only to discover something doesn’t add up.
Before her friends realise she’s missing, India has met a grizzly end after being murdered and buried in some woods, wrapped in an old carpet. Hmm, there’s nothing like a murder to make you feel festive.

Delighted with that bit of news....HATE that character.

Also, agree with everyone above. Was so impressed with the Malachy death scene. Acting was fabulous!

NOO!! i was beginning to like her. why not the sister instead?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,338 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

Is that going to be a Hollyoaks Later storyline, or what? It's pretty dark for Hollyoaks. But fair play to them, I suppose, for doing that kind of storyline.

I don't think anything like that has come up in a soap since Sarah in Coronation Street about 8 years ago.

I wonder what the reaction will be to
Nancy and Texas leaving India alone with the guy
    .

Another three new characters are to join Hollyoaks in the weeks ahead, shaking up life in the village as the soap's ongoing renewal process continues.

Theresa McQueen's new best friend Liberty, her fiancé Ethan Scott and mysterious Irishman Pete will all quickly make their mark in Chester once they make their debut on screen in forthcoming episodes.

Actress and singer-songwriter Abi Phillips has taken on the role of Liberty, who immediately hits it off with Theresa (Jorgie Porter) when they meet for the first time. However, it's not long until the pair's blossoming friendship hits an unexpected stumbling block.

Phillips will already be familiar to some fans of the teen show as she is the voice behind the track 'Missing You', which proved popular with viewers when it was recently featured in Steph Roach's death episode. The musician penned the song after being inspired by Steph's cervical cancer storyline and later submitted it to be used on the show.

Following the strong response to the track, Hollyoaks bosses arranged a meeting with Phillips and subsequently invited her to audition for the part of Liberty - a character they had been developing for some time.

Meanwhile, actor Craig Vye has landed the role of Ethan, a detective constable who catches Theresa's eye when he arrives in the village. A mutual attraction between the pair quickly grows, but when Theresa discovers that Ethan is Liberty's fiancé, she realises that she has found herself in another tricky situation.

Finally, former Cast Offs star Peter Mitchell's casting has also been officially confirmed. The Northern Irish actor - who has used a wheelchair since 2002 after a car crash left him paralysed - is to play Brendan Brady's old friend Pete, a new arrival who has a complicated history with the nightclub manager and turns up with a score to settle.

Liberty and Ethan will both appear on screen for the first time next week, while Pete makes his debut in February.

Bad boys Gaz Bennett and Doug Carter are both returning to Hollyoaks, DS can confirm.

Gaz - played by Joel Goonan - has been absent from screens since August, when he ended up in prison as his wayward behaviour came back to haunt him.

PJ Brennan's character Doug, meanwhile, was introduced as a new student in September, but he left the village in disgrace at the end of Freshers' Week when he was exposed as a drug dealer.

Speculation that both characters would return began yesterday when fans spotted that Goonan and Brennan both appear in a special Christmas music video recorded by the Hollyoaks cast.

Gaz's return will be a cruel blow for Anita Roy (Saira Choudhry), as he previously tormented her with racist bullying for months, pushing her to the edge.

Doug is also unlikely to receive a warm welcome back to the village following the devastating impact of his previous stint, which resulted in no-nonsense Carl Costello (Paul Opacic) warning him to pack his bags or else.

A Hollyoaks source told DS today: "Much to Anita's concern, Gaz will be making a shocking return to the village in the weeks ahead. Doug will also be coming back, but the details of how, why and when he returns are currently being kept under wraps."

Hollyoaks couple Jacqui McQueen and Rhys Ashworth take centre stage tonight in a special after-dark edition of the soap titled 'King of Hearts'.

The show favourites - played by Claire Cooper and Andy Moss - find themselves entangled in the dangerous world of gangster Danny Houston (Darren Day) once again as Jacqui's desire to protect her family leads her to desperate measures.

With scheming Kathleen still threatening to tell the police the truth about Theresa's murderous secret unless the McQueens stump up £2,000, Jacqui recruits Rhys to scam Danny in a poker game as part of a desperate plot to raise the cash.

However, when Danny discovers their plan, he's soon out for revenge and Rhys finds himself being dangled from a great height by two of the businessman's heavies.

As the drama unfolds, Danny makes it clear that he wants the money back and more - but adds that the debt will be wiped clean if he can have one night with Jacqui.

When Jacqui shocks Rhys by giving the indecent proposal some serious consideration, tension between the pair boils over into a full-blown row.

Determined that his girlfriend should not have to lose her dignity, Rhys teams up with Gilly Roach and they try to resolve the crisis by targeting Danny's glamorous drugs runner Sophia, played by guest star Donna Air.

With a gun in their possession, it seems as if the hapless pair have the upper hand - but when they find the weapon turned on them, it appears that they have landed themselves in some serious danger.

As the action reaches a climax, fans will discover whether Jacqui will have to go through with her night with Danny and whether Rhys and Gilly will escape Sophia's clutches.

Praising the late-night edition in a recent interview with DS, Claire Cooper said: "We get so used to the everyday [episodes], it's almost like we're taken out of our comfort zones. It's exciting. You can take it a bit further - there's a few swear words and we can do more things, as people will see in this episode.

"At 6.30pm, we have to be so careful because of compliance and things sometimes get cut out. With this, we get to tell a story in more detail and sometimes a bit more true to form - showing how people do respond, as obviously we can't show too much at 6.30pm! It's nice to have that freedom and the opportunity to play with it."

Jacqui finds out the truth that Rhys has betrayed her so hits the bottle. This leads to a drunken Jacqui spending the night with none other than Rhys's best friend Gilly. The results of this night will change their lives forever.

Sparks are set to fly when the McQueens father arrives in Hollyoaks village but why has he turned up now and what is he after?

The Hollyoaks Killer (Silas is Cameron is also Heidi's dad) is still on the loose and looks like he may strike again. Who could be next?

Theresa's is scared when Kyle escapes from prison and her past comes back to haunt her. Is this the end for Theresa and what will happen to baby Angel?

The new year brings some huge changes to Darren Osbourne's life, as his ex lover, Suzanne Ashworth, reappears - and dramatically gives birth to his twins. To make matters even more complicated, the shock twist comes just after he asks new girlfriend Nancy to be his wife.

Had the misfortune to catch the Christmas episode of this. Seriously creepy and depressing. I wouldn't mind but I don't even follow it, I was forced to watch. It put a proper downer onmy christmas eve eve!
Moral of the story was don't meet people off the internet .

It's like they wanted to beat Eastenders in terms of 'depressing everyone at Christmas'

Hollyoaks producer 1- "Right, lads. Eastenders are having Stacey run awayfor fear of being arrested, an unrequieted declaration of love, Janine stabbing herself, and the possibility of Stacey's mum going completely bonkers. What should we do to knock them off?"

HP 2 - "Rape and kill a 18 year old girl on Christmas Eve after meeting a guy online?"

HP 1 - "BRILLIANT! Love it! Christmas is coming to Hollyoaks!!"

It didn't depress me at all - I think all soaps need a bit of excitement at christmas time and what better way to do that than introduce a serial killer?
