How to Fix a Phillips 32" c-ray tv

My tv has died on me, the symptoms b4 death where as follows, about a year ago when I switched the tv on it would switch its self off after a second or two and it would repeat this two or three times b4 it would stay on, this gradually got worse to the point where I would have to keep switching it on about 10 times b4 it…

sounds like a capacitor problem to me. This is the thing that "charges" up to start the CRT when you press the button.
You'd need to have the capacitor replaced by a professional.

i had the exact same problem with not one, but two Philips 32inch CRTs!

Got one fixed recently and it was the cap. costs about €40 to replace by any good appliance repairer.
