In any event it could be a continunity error. Gulf war vets sounds about right to me. has the chap playing BA(I'm going to guess hiss naame is Rampage Jackson but prob wrong) been in anything beofre? is hee any good?

he's been in bits and pieces as token tought guy but his career until very recently was as a professional mixed martial artist (e.g. cage fighter).

Original A-Team cast member Dwight Schultz will make a cameo in the upcoming movie adaptation.

The actor, who played 'Howling Mad' Murdock during the '80s TV show, was on location at the film's Vancouver-based set, according to his official website.

"We are pleased to inform you all that Dwight has actually already been working in Vancouver, where he has played a cameo role in the A-Team movie," read a posting.

The 61-year-old was also on hand to meet District 9 star Sharlto Copley, who will portray the role in the forthcoming film.

Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson make up the rest of the cast. There is no word yet if their television counterparts will appear in director Joe Carnahan's action picture.

The A-Team is due to arrive in US cinemas on June 11, 2010.

The other boys from the TV show definitely have to get a nod. I mean, Mr.T is (in a way) still around with the Snickers ads.

I think Rampage looks the part of B.A. but....................it just won't be the same.

    Foo'!!

There was a great chemistry between the cast from the TV series and a pity in a way that they didn't do a feature film of their own. They certainly had the screen presence if the script were right and some of the action scenes were less surreal. With his impressive film roles to date Liam Neeson should be able to do justice to George Peppard's character and maybe add a little spice of his own. It's the Jazz.

Dirk Benedict will make an appearance in 20th Century Fox's big screen revival of The A-Team.

Benedict, who played Templeton 'Faceman' Peck in the '80s TV series, announced the cameo role through his official website Dirk Benedict Central.

Original A-Team actor Dwight Schultz ('Howling Mad' Murdock) will also feature in the Joe Carnahan-directed action film, which is currently shooting in Vancouver for a June, 2010 release.

I'm not sure about the great chemistry. Well maybe on screen... but off screen George Peppard and Mr T didn't get along.

Did anyone ever watch the Justin Lee Collins show, Bring Back the A-Team? Here's his interview with Mr T.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=di4L-nkh7fI

I can't wait for the new movie to be released... been waiting years for this! I'm just not sure about Quinton Jackson. Will anyone be as good as the original BA?

You can see a sneak peak of things here: http://a-team-movie-trailer.blogspot.com/

Interesting, i didn't know about the off-screen friction. Maybe it added an edge to the scenes where B.A. "i ain't gettin' on no plane fool' was played out. I wonder will the updated version have jackson with a similar phobia or something different.

It wouldn't be A-Team if they cut out BA's plane phobia!

Really looking forward to this. Seen some of the filming in Vancouver - one of the stunts looked amazing - involved BA dangling on the outside of a skyscraper with guns in hand.

Must admit they all look the part from the promo shots at least. Great cast.

The 1st trailer is expected this weekend according to this source on AICN

The source gives an account of what's in the trailer. If you don't wanna be spoiled then wait for this weekend, could be interesting.

No matter what they do with this film, it will never be as good as the original series. I loved that series. I even seen a picture of the van from the film - they couldn't even get the red stripe right - need I say more!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,295 ✭✭✭✭Duggy747

Yea, I know what ya mean but, hey, at least the van is in it. We could've been stuck with a crappy new prototype van for GMC to advertise off...................or some cheap rip-off of a Mustang.

That van is nearly more memorable than the team itself.

As long as it doesn't piss on the memory of the TV show then I shouldn't have a problem with it................besides the fact the no matter who you cast it will never be the REAL A-Team.

Same was said about Transformers when fanboys saw the fire streaks on Prime...

It just would have been nice to have the van looking like the original - but at least it is in it.
I'll definetly watch this film but I know it won't be the same when the van pulls up and 4 other actors jump out, lol - can't even imagine anyone being as good as George Peppard as Hannibal.

Do you not think it would look a bit silly having the A-Team driving an 1980's van around modern day cities?

Just my own opinion - I think the van from the series would still look ok in the movie version. Maybe the fact that it is mostly black makes it look more modern.
I don't know what make the van in the movie is, but that doesn't matter to me, I just would have liked if they had gotten the stripe the same way it was in the series.

I for one could never get too hung up on little things like in remakes. I mean the smartest thing the new star trek ever did was bring in the timeline change thing and the fanboys can't say **** about any changes etc.

At the end of the day its never going to be the same and you should just take it as a stand alone film.

Looks pretty decent, looking forward to it. As I said in the 2010 films to watch thread, I think Copley, Cooper and Neeson will have great chemistry.

Yeah but in fairness, so was the TV series! Nostalgia is a great gloss but the original series wasn't exactly Shakespearian. I'm looking forward to this, coupled with The Expendables I think proper OTT un-PC eighties cinema could be glorious in 2010!

Shiney metallic black, with pimped out wheels.

I'm thinking they come home from the Gulf War I, instead of Vietnam?

Hearing someone else utter the immortal line "I love it when a plan comes together" is just all wrong. As a die-hard A-Team fan i'm distinctly unimpressed tbh. The trailer reminded me of the tv re-make of BSG for some reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,510 ✭✭✭sprinkles

I have faith in this. It's a good cast, the trailer was good (tank thing was a bit out of left field) and most importantly the original series was cheesy as they get so that frees this project up to being as mindboggingly stupid as it wants imo.

All I want is a good old fashioned pop-corn cheese fest :)

the first trailer was good but the second trailer rocked.

But the worst thing about the second trailer is that they gave away all the best bits  of the film I hate that,.

Which was one of the best things on television in the last ten years, so, awesome!

Loved the second trailer. Was a huge A-Team fan as a kid. While you cant replace the original cast, this looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

You know how we like to kid about the Hollywood machine & how when it tries to adapt from another source (TV, books etc.), said machine nearly always chews up the source material and spits out this generic, demographic-fawning turd that has all the spirit and warmth of a tax audit? Yeah, well, I think the A-team trailers should be used as an example to back up this concept - it looks f*cking awful to be honest. A few generic action scenes, a few generic "comedy" scenes, a few generic love-interest scenes, etc. etc.

I like the look of the movie, but I'd guess going by the trailers that it will be a let down, looks like its not a serious film, just over the top action and effects

But isn't tat exactly what the A-Team was, over the top action and loads of tings going boom.

I thought it was a bit more realistic, maybe I'm remembering wrong, I'd hope a movie plot could be a bit more developed with a good story to it. Would have been nice if the movie had a more violent streak than the tv series

The A-Team, realistic? First time those two words have been featured int eh same sentence. Remember that this was a show in which 20 goons could tumble out of a helicopter and no matter how many rounds of ammunition were fired or dozen buildings explode not one single person would ever leave with anythign more serious than a few bumps and scrapes.

As long as the film doesn't try to poke fun at the show then I'll be happy. I recently re-watched some of the Starsky and Hutch film and the way in which it turned what was quite a gritty show for it's time into a slapstick comedy was an absolute waste of time and effort.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,469 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

It's just one or two things in the trailer like falling in the tank from the aeroplane that looked silly. Maybe in the movie it will work better

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,295 ✭✭✭✭Duggy747

The tank scene still looks unbelievably stupid, I think it's the fact that it looks so CGI-ed that it throws us off.

Heh, if they did it for real THEN I'd be impressed :pac:

I think this movie could suffer from the fans for being too OTT. Anywho, I'll hold out judgement until I see it. As long as it doesn't ruin the A-Team name then I don't care that it has to be utter brilliant!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 745 ✭✭✭cable842

I dont know we I dont think Ive ever saw and plane explode in a flim and a tank fall out of it with a parachute.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,612 ✭✭✭uncleoswald

I was thinking it looked pretty stupid. Then there was the bit with the tank..... I'm out. There is a difference between dumb fun and just dumb.

I went too see Smoking aces cause he was meant too do mission impossible before or after it not sure which.

And I have too say Ryan Reynolds was cool in it but not used properly.

The Film in general was a pile of crap.

Not if he can bring his game and make A TEAM ALPHA AGAIN

I'm up for that but i can't stand being disappointed a second time.
    yes I did.:o

also it won't be another Starsky and Hutch. A-Team director is Joe Carnahan.
    he does gritty, not sh*tty.

Terry Tate needs to bring the pain in this though as Baracus.
