The Irish Mini Owners Club in association with Irish Vintage Scene's "Classic Car Live" are holding Mini50@Mondello on Sunday 14th of June.

Anyone who attended the inaugural Classic Car Live show last year will know that this isn't the usual park and shine affair. Mondello is an international race circuit and offers us car enthusiasts more possibilities for a great day out.

The aim is to get as many Minis as possible to put on a centre stage display of the best little car in the world and show people the many facades of the Mini. All makes and models of Minis are welcome and unlike last year where this was a classic only show, this year because it is the 50th anniversary of the Mini, all classic minis and variants regardless of what year they are will be welcome so if you have an Elf, Hornet, Moke, Cooper, Sportpack, Van, Estate, Pickup, Clubman, Autotester, Vtec monster, any Mini based kit car right up til then end of production in 2000, we would love to see it there on the day.

On top of the usual concours competition, there will be a parade lap of the track for Minis only. In addition, the historic mini racers will be in action and there will be mini trade stands also.

Again this year it is a prepaid event so here is a link to the entry form which once you have filled out and sent back with payment to Mondello they will send back a windscreen sticker which gets you entry to the event.

If you have any questions contact Aidan McGrath on +353-87-2309324

We would welcome club stands from all over Ireland and as you will see from the entry form, there are 10 free entry tickets for each club.

    Hope to see you there.

    Billy

We were hoping for 100 Minis but from talking to Mondello this morning we are now up to 170 Minis and counting.

Today Tuesday is the last day to pre-book with Mondello if you want to take part. Simply call Jenny at Mondello at 045-860200, give your name and address, and she will post you out a windscreen sticker.

If you don't have a sticker, you will be asked to park in the public car park. No exceptions.

As of 5 minutes ago, it's now up to 182.

We'll make 200 yet, and not a BINI in sight.

Isn't this a general classic car show as well?

Yes it is but Irish Vintage Scene contacted the Irish Mini Owners Club with a view to putting together a display of minis's to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the mini so it has grown to over 180 minis and there is also over 700 other classics booked it.When they contacted the IMOC we put it to them that the shape of the mini changed little over the 41 years of production and that all classic mini owners should be allowed in and they have agreed this. However no BMW minis will be allowed into the paddock area as they are not classics but BMW owners are more than welcome to come along and park in the public carpark and come on for the fun.

Take it easy heading down and you could buy off of Ian Graham of MiniQuip.Specialist mini parts supplier from the North and fit it at the show.

When I said fit it down there I meant for you to bring the spanners and fit it yourself.
