Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How many players per table??

Just wanted some opinions on how many players you think should be at a table in a multi-tourny.

I play regularly at a location that always trys to get 10 players per table (plus a dealer), and it is something I have always disagreed with. Firstly, it is not the most comfortable, but much more importantly, I think it has a negative impact on the play.

I recall Stephen (Carfax) discussing this with someone at the BH series, and his opinion was, that a multi-tourny should NEVER be more than 9 handed, and I have found this to be the case in most venues. I know that the Irish open had to start with a few 10-handed tables this year, and Paddy Power apologised for this, however, it was down to 8-9 handed very quickly.

I personally enjoy 6-handed poker, however I know this is not practical on a regular basis, however I really think 10-handed is unnecessary.

    Any thoughts/opinions.

    Thanks.

this is open to debate. personally I like a 9-handed table, but 10 is fine as well....depending on the circumstances.

For MTT's, I like 9 seaters or even 8 seaters but 10 players is too many I think. 6 seaters are very small in a MMT as the blinds come around too fast.

I always try and play a 6 seater cash table though.

10 handed in casinos is ok coz tables seem 2 b a little bigger but in pubs and clubs were theres dealers at tables i think 9 is enough especially when ur not the biggest and ur stuck between 2 big people 4 a few hours.9 handed more than enough 4 me.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

6 ldo! Although that is probably somewhat unattainable for live play. 9 is def better though imo, since 10 usually gets really cramped and you obv have to nit up a bit.

The more players at a table, the more bad players they are generally. Saying that, because of space issues I prefer 9 handed, but if the table is not tiny, then 10 handed is ok too.

6 is too little, 8 or 9 is perfect.
