Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

Wondering if ye could me. I am currently looking to purchase a digital camera. Its not for myself but for my father. He is not very digitally minded so looking for something very easy to use! Along with this, a camera that is durable within reason, and produces a good quality picture. My budget is €150 to €200 but I am not limited based on cost. I have been looking online on pixmania and decided I would get some advice before purchasing.

If anyone could help me it would be great.

Have a read of the sticky at the top of this forum, it should sort out most issues for you and if you've a more specific question you can ask it there or even here after.

Thanks for pointing me to that. I have went through the topic and it was a great help.

I have been looking at 2 different makes, a Sony and Fuji. I am wondering which is the best value for money and particularly, easier to user. For example, these are 2 models I was considering:

    http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/2682646/art/sony/cyber-shot-dsc-w220-black.html

    Feedback would be great!

In my meager opinion, I would never recommend a Sony camera.
While yes they are good CAMERAS I don't like their proprietary Memory Media sticks/cards. I would recommend them if Sony switched to, what I and many others consider the two standards, SD or CF.

The problem is that most regulars here would not have a lot of experience with Point & Shoot cameras.

I do believe that Canon have the best reputation in P&S models. Fuji are great for Bridge Cameras. Sony also have a good name.

I see one of the models you picked has a 12.1 MP Sensor. This would put me off that one in favour of a model with less pixel density.

So 10MP would be a better option than 12.1MP?

    Short answer - Yes.

If you want the reason why then search on the MegaPixel Myth
