Stay clear of A.I.T. They are useless, waste of money and time.

I went to BPP in Dublin to do my ACCA exams and found them brilliant. Qualified 2 years ago.

I have been doing homestudy with BPP and find them great.

I did do F6 - Taxation lecturer in DBS and without a doubt, she is fantastic!!

I have attended a one day revision course with BPP for F7 and I definitely intend to go to any revision courses the lecturer is carrying out again for future courses.

Lecturer for F8 with BPP did one day revision course and found him very good also.

I wouldn't say that at all, I went there to do two ACCAs as a full time course, I wasn't keen on the auditing lecture but that could well have had as much to do with the subject as the lecturer himself. I thought the tax lecturer (who also lectures for the ICAI) was fantastic, I can safely say I wouldn't have passed the paper without his help.
I haven't mentioned any names as I don't know if that is allowed.

I agree tax lecturer in A.I.T. is very good, but the rest of them are terrible in my opinion. I would not advise going there because they have one good lecturer. If you are going to do exams one at a time, then you could go there for tax. Otherwise stay clear!

Went to college in athlone. I'm a CIMA head though. The lecturers in Athlone were excellent for college but I've been told by friends that the full time ACCA course isn't the best.

They reckon their money would've been better spent with BPP or DBS.

If you go to BPP/DBS you are getting lecturers who are practically full time professional exam lecturers. With due respect to the guys in AIT they are still primarily college lecturers and may no necessarily be most in tune with whats going on in the professional bodies.

There is a lecturer with BPP called Michael Barry - fantastic accountancy lecturer. He does CIMA and ACCA with them, if he is doing any courses in BPP I would strongly advise on doing his courses.

By the way, for college and exemptions AIT is in a league of its own!

Best in Europe AFAIK, I went there full time and like everywhere you have your good ones and bad ones although with reflection I think the subject has a lot to do with it.
Re part time, good and bad, I lectured there for 4 years with reasonable pass rate, one of my classes was 9/9 one year which I was chuffed about.
Pass rates and success is very much down to students attitude, the harder the work rate does not always mean the better chance of success.
Work smarter, not harder, all the past questions are available FOC, do them all AT LEAST three times and you will do well, there's only so much that can be asked so there is repetation.
I literally had students ask me that if they came to every class and read my notes would that be enough to pass,.
ACCA exams rewards preparation, fail to prepare is preparing for failure.
Best advice I could give is to engage in study groups wherever possible, a good balanced study group of 3/4 is priceless in splitting up the work and revising through verbal Q+A.
    Practice your answer plans also.

I reckon you should stick with the specialists in this area of professional exams. both BPP and DBS (part of kaplan) have huge experience in preparing students for these exams and live or die by the quality of service they provide. Griffith and Independent also have quality lecturers and are focused on the prof exams.
if you cannot get to these guys then the ITs are the next best set but keep away from the uni's as their staff are focused on research and think teaching is a necessary pain in the neck.
