A conversation with a student today inspired me to start this thread. Any of you guys go to CTYI in DCU when you were a kid?

I find the whole thing intensely cliquey. Yuck.

    '98 session 2 :)

Ah, session 1 98. Not that I'd remember you if it was the other way around :D And MP3Guy, you're right in a way tbh. There were people who I done it with who were like that. Mostly rich spoilt kids from the southside who ended up going to UCD or Trinners. Funny that

Yeah, unfortunately there's always going to be the people who go to CTYI who end up thinking they're superior to everyone else just because they did well on a test!
But not everyone who went there is like that! Me, for example :P

    06 and 07 (I feel so young!)
It was me you were talking to about it the other day :P

Yeah elitist, cliquey, trinity. All reasons I didn't go. Not an unfounded opinion. I had friends that went who are no longer friends. I'm proud of my teenage judgements!

Yes 3 weeks in the summer changed your friends forever  It was great craic and I'm definitely not an elitist trinity snob.

It was nerd heaven. Met another guy who was big into flight simulators and WWII. We bonded.
