I received a letter from Renault that our Renault Scenic was to be brought in for a recall on the A/C unit. Something to do with the computer needing to be re-set. I dropped off the car and later that day I got a call to say that the A/C was leaking and that they would have to send off for a specialist kit to track the source of the leak to fix it. That was a few weeks ago and I haven't heard anything back. Does anyone know if I can get this done privately and not in the Renault dealership?

Yes, Renault don't have to do this (I assume the car is out or warranty), their are car AC specialist who can find a leak by putting a dye into the system and tracing it that way.
