Check out the time lapse on cam5

It starts at 1am so you can see the arrivals (if you're quick), you can clearly see the boats being lifted onto the work area, and you can see the swan boat performance. Also some security activity behind the stage.

I was one of the windsurfers out in the bay in the morning. First time sailing in Salthill, what a buzz. Pity about the rocks, my fin was a casualty :(

Thanks for the link. I might well have a go, but I will wait a while to see what else I can get as each photographer can only enter once.

Because night mode generally means long exposure.... slow shutter speed... while the shutter is open it's recording light, so any movement and it will streak across your image, slight movement (hand shake) will appear as blur.

Gary explained, so if you want to remove blur and don't have a tripod, just balance your camera on something solid and use the self timer function to take the shot.

Exactly as I was about to add! I even use the self-timer when on a tripod. You can pick up a mini-tripod for really cheap though.

One of the swan + tenors ... loved the way they appeared, almost out of nowhere, at the end while the patronising message was saying "show's over kids, please go home quietly".
