Volvo Race Pics and Vids Thread

Thanks for uploading photos from the Galway Volvo Ocean Race! BUT, please use the group upload for these photos (button is found on http://pix.ie/group/galwayvolvooceanrace) otherwise they will not appear in the official group.

We have manually added your existing photos to this group for you, but please use the URL above for future photos of the Volvo Ocean Race.

I uploaded photos onto pix.ie yesterday, just using normal upload function, then I got this email back.

Was confused, as I didn't know VOR photos uploaded had to be put onto the official VOR page.

So I would like to enter something I wouldbe happy with. It's all a bit vague though, I must admit. On the steps for uploading it tells you how to upload more than one picture, then you get to the Terms and Conditions and it tells you the above. Wish it was a bit clearer.

Yes you can enter/upload as many batches of photos and as many photographs as you like, but each photograph can only be entered once. i.e. Don't upload the SAME photo 100 times!

You must use the group upload form to enter the competition: http://pix.ie/group/galwayvolvooceanrace/upload

If you use the regular upload form you will see a red notice right at the top prompting you to choose which competition you would like to enter...

There is a competition for the best pics posted with prizes and the photos posted are displayed on the big screen beside the stage at the docks throughout the event..

Also, my missus has organised this website and competition and is looking to get 10000 photos posted and the idea is to show and promote the west as a gr8 place to live and work as all of us know it is....Some great snaps on this thread..I'd love to support her and get way over the 10K photos expected....To date there have been about 600 snaps per day of Galway and the west of Ireland...

Headin to Galway from work for 5 nights...Roll on and great weather!
