Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not sure if this is within the rules. But it is up to you to decide anyway.

Otherwise I need to go back and take it from a lower angle.

Rahtkennades I bet you tried for ages to get one of that little sculpture with the axe in the background (taken facing the other way).

Haha, yup! I got a couple last year on film, but I would have needed different light to get it yesterday. That and a contortionist's neck to angle the camera correctly!

rahtkennades - really like the shot of the statue, but I don't think it fully meets the assignment, which is "Ground Level"? The shot of the bicycle is more like it.

I'm away to put my thinking cap on, as right now - I haven't a clue!

I'm not sure if you know the statue, but if not, take a look at the giant grass that it's standing amongst ;):pac:

rahtkennades - still doesn't look like it was taken at "Ground Level", I know the piece is small, but it doesn't have the same perspective as the bicycle shot. It might just be the crop that seems to elevate the view, in my opinion.

The shot with the statue is taken about 35mm lower than his bike shot. About 15m into the foreground the meadow takes a on a slow roll down and you can see the foreground (further back by about 80) rolling back up to meet the Bully Acre.

Hmmm...yeah...maybe. I dunno, I kinda thought it was just an alternative take on the theme. It's taken at about 5cm from the ground. I used an ultra-wide lens to expand the fov and take in a lot more of the scene than just the statue. It gives everything a false perspective that 'fools' the viewer into seeing it as a much larger object taken from a different viewpoint.

Or some shoite anyway.

PMSL - really appreciate the techno babble!

I think the shot is great, the wee figure is definitely one of my favs so far.

Here's a photo of my new artificial lawn.
Not a great photo but I like the lens flare in it.
Cambo's snail shot gets my vote, lovely bokeh on the background grass.

Hi Gonker,
On your daughters Pix page of the photo, you'll find above the photo is the word sizes. If you click on this you'll be brought to a larger image of the one you want. Below the picture you'll find two boxes with code to copy to 'Link to this photo from another website'. THe one you want to copy is the one on the bottom for forums. In your daughters case it'll look something like this :
['IMG']http://photos2.pix.ie/10/0C/100C72A8FC5C4D38B5BEC5F51732DB00-800.jpg[/'IMG']

Just copy this code straight onto this page.

By the way - she's taken two very nice shots

gonker - the sand shot is brilliant!
I feel it suffers, just a bit, from being a bit off-level. Makes me tilt my head :)
Other than that, I really like it.

Zarapa that is gorgeous.

mrmac thanks for that she only got the camera the day before so I think she was really nervous about getting it wet or sandy!!!
btw your shot is fab. She was trying to get a shot like that but couldnt get it right.

gonker - cheers!
Tell her to register, and start lurking in the photography forum :)
She def. has a good eye for a scene - the waters edge shot is class - makes me reminisce (happy days).

Tell her not to be "afraid" to post up her pictures, we don't bite (too hard :D ).

I look forward to seeing some more of her shots, in the near future ;)

Congratulations, ThOnda, you are the winner. Your coastal pic got 16 thanks just ahead of Pullandbang's cabbages with 15 thanks.

Pick a good one for Assignment 15!
